SOURCE: Kerosene garage heater (Desco) fan

Remove the top from the heater and clean the flame sensor. It should be the photo eye type. Remove it from it hold and clean inside with soft cloth or cotton swab with alcohol. If this doesn't help, let me know what you find. nitensheaterservice@earthlink.net

Cant get my electric kerosene heater to light

Could the fuel be too old? I would recommend dumping the fuel in an outdoor firepit and burn it up. Use an inexpensive "Turkey Baster" to suck it out of the tank. Then put fresh kerosene in and try it.

My heaters fan will not start, and the cercut breaker keeps opening.I thinking it needs a new fan motor

You are probably right, but there are 2 other possibilities. 1. the air pump rotor could be shattered, therefore binding the motor 2. the fan blade could possibly be binding (this happens mainly after storage periods....varmit nests)

most parts for kero heaters are interchangable. go to desatech dot com for parts. check for a reset button for your heater. if no reset, does the fan run? your unit can use one of two ignition parts. a spark generator with a spark plug or a hot surface igniter. the unit uses a cad cell flame detector. you might need to replace this.
