Amana NED7200TW dryer. Has heat, tumbles, clothes don't dry. Vents have been gone through and cleaned. This happens in the sensor dry and time dry modes. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Just a question. Does your blower work. If your blower does not work it won't dry. Check blower belt. Mine broke and had no air blowing. Just a thought.

My amana dryer model is making screeching sound

Hi Peggy...
ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE STARTING ANY REPAIRS
Your problem sounds like drum rollers have flat spots on them or in need of lubrication, or maybe your belt has slipped off of the idler arm pulley. If you have a front loading machine, Remove the electrical console that holds the timer switch, start switch, etc. from the top of the dryer. BE REAL CAREFUL not to knock any of the wires off of the timer switch. Then remove the top of the dryer. Remove the front of the dryer. This will expose the drum and belt. Remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers, idler arm pulley and motor. Now is a good time to check the belt to see if it has slipped off of the idler arm pulley and also to check the belt condition for wear. Be sure to note the route of the belt, this will come in handy when you go to reinstall the belt. Check your drum rollers for flat spots or wear, if they have flat spots or wear on them replace them. If the drum rollers don't have flat spots or wear on them then they probably only need lubrication. Lubricate the shaft of the rollers with a good grade of machine oil such as 3 in One oil. Reassemble the dryer, plug back in. This should solve your noise problem. I will include these two websites for parts and further help: http://www.partselect.com/ http://www.appliancepartspros.com/index.aspx Both also have chat assistance 24/7. Good Luck, I hope this helps Please rate me, Thank You

Dryer louder than used to be, does it need service?

The belt may be worn and squealing because it is slipping.  When it warms up it stops slipping.  It will have to be replaced soon. A worn bearing on a support wheel could also cause intermittent noise.

Amana (LE8517W2) No heat

You should inspect the filter hosing and blower assembly and replace the cycling thermostat mounted on the blower housing. Get rid of whatever is blocking your outside vent and causing the thermal overload. The dryer is getting too hot either because of a control malfunction or an air blockage. If your control thermostat is the 4 wire type (2 small 2 large wires) then it probably is bad.
I test them by using an electronic thermostat to gage the temp. It should at max not exceed 160F nor get below 100F during drying cycle. Perma press should be around 150
delicate 140.

Amana (Whirlpool) LE8517W2 electric dryer doesn't heat & more...

yes you should replace your thermostat because the thermostat is what tells you heating element to shut down. They probably ckecked it for continuity and it seemed good but in reality it's not functioning properly. you seem to know about your dryer quite well so here's a site to go to and see about maybe replacing the entire heating unit check out items 1914 and 667745 at www.repairclinic.com/Appliance-Parts?s=t-LE8517W2-%3d%3d&z=100

Amana dryer loud noise

remove the lowe acesss panel( 2 5/16 screws) wiht the panel removed and a flashlight in hand, turn on the dryer and watch it tumble. you should be able to pinpoint where its coming from. its either the rear roller supports, the front drum glide assy's, or the tension pulley in ehich the belt its wrapped arund(develops a rut in which the belt has cut into it causing horrible screeeching noise, heck to replace all three of the components is problavle ony 50 bucks or so
