My 455 Rancher overheats and smokes upon starting.How can I solve this problem.

The chain may be too tight on the bar. You may have not mixed the correct ratio of gas and oil, or you're running the mixture screw too lean.

455 rancher runs with chock out 15 second and dies


Try opening the choke half way as soon as it starts then all the way open in a few seconds... It only needs the choke to start and should run fine in less than a minute after idleing with the choke not engaged...

455 rancher engine bogging down and starting to smoke


Make sure you are using the correct fuel mix.

Check fuel tank vent, prone to blocking an can effect the performance
Clean air filter, check Spark plug.

I have a husqvarna 455 rancher. It was working


Take it right back to repair shop and have them fix under their warranty.

It is possible the fuel hasn't got to the carbureator due to plugged fuel filter or fuel finder OR an air leak in the fuel hose.

I have a 455 rancher i have spark (dont know if good spark) and gas new spark plug and air filter and it wont start.


Check to see if your ignition switch ( on& off) switch still have both wires attached. Common problem with that saw, loose or disconnected wire

you need turn off you choke one's its fired up... otherwise it will flood the saw with too much fuel...
