You will have to push f10 when the system is rebooting and change the bootup order of the drives and put d first

How to reformat hp laptop?

restart the pc. then boot from a cd e.g xp pro setup cd. then install the software and when it asks you to choose where you want to instal choose the local disk,c:, and choose to completely reformat this to a ntfs file system. note by reformatting you will be deleting all files in the computer and i suggest that you back the partition up to external devices.

HP Pavilion ze5500 - Laptop won't recognize hard drive.

Hi. Once I had this similar problem with a HP Pavilion dv9000. "No Operating System"; "Windows Recovery Console cannot continue because there's no HD present..press F3 to Exit". No progress with Safe Mode nor Command Prompt, etc.
Then I went to the Bios, change tab to "System Configuration" and change the "Sata Native Support" to disable, whitch says that by changing to disable the HD would work better if the Operating System are Win2000 and Win9x.
Hit "Safe and Exit" and the computer started normaly!
I relly don't know how or why. It just work.
I don't know if would work for Linux (mine had Windows XP) and don't know the Bios view of your laptop. But you can explore and give it a try.
Hope this helps.
God Bless You!

Hp dv1000 media card

Hello,

Remove the media card while booting.

If there is no media in the card reader, press F8 after the laptop beeps during boot and this should give you a Safe Mode boot screen, choose Safe Mode and then your default OS listed. After you get your desktop, restart the laptop.

If when you press F8 you get a boot from what screen, choose your hard drive and then immediately press F8 again to get the Safe Mode boot screen.

You need to either remove the flash media or use Safe Mode and then restart to reset the Boot Ini information script.

Let me know if this works for you or not, as we may need to take another measure.

Regards,
Worldvet
