i just got rid of my dyson dc 39 multifloor big ball vacuum. im guessing you have a high pile rug which the vacuum is not mostly intended for it works best with low pile carpets. that said there is a way, turn the brush part upside down so that the brushes are facing you,, at the front their are two screws if you unscrew them you will be able to lift up just the front long part of the brushroll, it has the option of being screwed on high or low so that you get better vacuuming from high pile carpets good luck
I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty using your new Dyson vacuum on this particular type of deeper-pile carpet. It's possible your new machine has higher suction at the cleaner head, and this could mean it needs slightly higher push-force on certain carpets with deeper, denser pile, or thick underlay. You may find it helps to use the vacuum with the brush bar switched - carpet manufacturers will sometimes advise vacuuming deep-pile carpets in this way.
However, I would encourage you to get in touch with us directly so we can take some further details about the issue. If it shakes while you are pushing against the carpeting you can try adjusting the height of the brush until it is just touching the carpeting. Some thick pile carpeting the Kirby will still shake or jump on, the strong suction causes it to trip over the thick pile that is lifted up when vacuuming.
