How do I replace the ignition coil on a strikemaster solo 142 ice auger. I can't see how to remove the plastic case to get to the ignition coil.

To replace the ignition coil on a strikemaster solo ice fishing auger you will need to go about it from the bottom side. remove the auger drill itself and turn the unit upside down. remove the 4 screws and the snap ring remove the screw that connects the throttle arm. remove the remaining bolts that hold the upper part of the gear case and remove the entire gear case unit. now you will be able to access the screws that hold the plastic cover and have access to the coil.

Solo 445 weak spark

I had the same problem.. First I was only getting 89 psi so I took it apart just to find out that the piston ring was half way stuck in the piston groove making it loose compression put it back together and it started. But it was starting sometimes and I almost gave up on it till I noticed that the cruise throttle needed to be at least half way up to start and now it starts all the time just have to make sure is half way up before starting... If you try starting it with the throttle down it will give you a little bit of a hard time starting it when you put it half way up.. You have to start it half way up right off the back

Poulan BVM200 LE leal blower it about 4 years old and has no spark. It work well last fall. Must the ignition module be replaced. Thanks, Rick

hi rick

if the plug is ok and kill switch and wire have been isolated from the ignition unit

and the earth is good for the armature legs on the coil - then yes the ignition module must be replaced and the air gap set to 0.010 "

a fair bit of work involved in replacing coil in one of these units !!!

ps make sure compression and muffler are ok and have a look up the ex port and check rings / piston and bore for any damage before parting with any cash for new coil

and dont be tempted to use stale fuel mix in your blower it can cause a lubrication fault
resulting i damage to piston / rings etc
