Bernina would probably be the best place to check. Next might be finding a donor machine with a good board.

Where ot buy bernina main circuit board pleaseSue

Depending on the model you can try :

otherwise you'll have to get it through a dealer, which should offer a warranty if they install it. Often times the S-Print(main board on a bernina) can be $500-$700 though. Older boards for 930s etc may not be available anymore.

I have bernina 150, with main circuit board requiring repalcement help ? any idea please sue

Is the power coming on, screen lighting up etc? If not, it will be the L-Print(power board) not the S-Print(main board). The L-print is much cheaper but newer boards will require a dealer I'm afraid.

Bernina 1230 nothing happens when pedal is depressed.

Hmm, wonder if it could be a board or ????? You've already tested the foot control and it seems to be okay, so the problem would appear to be in the machine itself. Does the light work? That may be another clue.

May be time for a service call.

FWIW--Here are a couple of posts on a Bernina group:

My Bernina 1230 has lost its electric connection. My mechanic says that I need a new power board for $270, $30 for shipping from Bernina, $100 for installation, and $70 for the initial service--a grand total of $470.

I bought a 1230 this summer and finally dropped it off for service with
a very reliable OSMG though not a Bernina tech.

He had the machine all tuned up and ready to go, decided to try it one more time, and the machine didn't move. Tried another foot control, and still nothing.

The theory is the internal circuit board is the problem.

I know that some of you have had local electronics guys fix the circuit board problem, instead of shipping it to Bernina headquarters."

I have been fixing Bernina's for 46 years and would not try to repair a board. Just saying. BERNINA has a replacement charge and gives credit for return of core and at a reasonable cost. ($150-250) Be sure you are dealing with a reputable BERNINA dealer

Bernina Aurora 430 sewing machine that the sewing light and the display went out on at the same time. I assume the problems are related but not sure. Was told that the main circuit board was the problem...

That's probably true if there's not a fuse or circuit breaker on the machine. Alas, if anyone but a repair shop opens the case, you've voided the warranty, so I'd look hard for a circuit breaker on the machine and then if that's unsuccessful, drag it in for repair. With luck, it's a loose board.

When I tried to turn my Virtuosa 150 on, a light colored smoke came out of the top left hand side of the machine. What happened?

sounds like a capacitor, circuit board or something electrical has gone inside it; I'd suggest taking it to a Bernina service centre for deeper diagnosis as this is an electronic machine and more complex that a standard mechanical machine.

I have a 930 Bernina and it started to sizzle and smoke came out of it. It smelled real bad.

I repaired one last week for the same fault.

A component called a capacitor blew on the main circuit board. I was able to repair it but you may have to replace the entire board.

Expensive job but worth it as its a quality machine.

Is it worth replacing a blown main circuit board on bernina virtuosa 150 QE or cheaper to buy a new one?

it would be cheaper to buy a new machine the broads can cost upwards of 300.00 and that doesn't include the labor

Bernina Virtuosa 153 QE Won't turn on

If you've got bad luck like I do, you probably blew out the circuit board! It took my Bernina dealer 4 months to get another from Sweden; thank goodness they gave me a loaner.
Unfortunately, it happened again right after I picked it up from the dealer, and they have to find another circuit board for it! It's not a problem with my electrical wiring because the loaner ran just fine.
It's very, very frustrating because I'm a small business and need my machine running!
