Question about HP PSC 1510 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Paper feeds into printer 1/2way, stops, check paper light flashes

I am having a similar problem to several previous posts. The paper feeds about halfway and then it stops and the check paper light flashes. I have gone through all the troubleshooting steps possible (cleaned the rollers inside, tried different paper, tried one sheet at a time, turned off and on, etc.) but it is still doing it. It randomly printed one page of a 2-page Word file a minute ago but that's all I've gotten all morning. Has anyone had this same problem and fixed it? Help!

Thanks for your post. But, what does the sensor look like? Is it the small black arm with the roller on the bottom that points down?

Yes, there is a sensor on the right side of the carriage that points down at the paper, you use a Q-tip moist with water and wipe the underside of this sensor, you may need a couple since quite a bit of ink sprays onto this sensor.

Red "Paper" light stays on; printer will not print.

Paper light flashing could mean several things on this machine.

There could be a paper jam in the machine. Open the front cover remove the drum and toner and look in the machine. You can also check in between the drum and toner by removing the toner from the drum. Open the back cover and look for a Jam as well.

Try putting a piece of paper in the manual feed tray which is right above the paper tray, sometimes on certain documents the margins are too big and asks to go into the manual feed slot.

K5400dtn - paper feed and on buttons flashing - won't print

This usually the indicator for a paper jam or similar.

You need to check over the printer for any scraps, jams, etc.. that are stopping the paper or printhead from moving normally.

You also need to check for any lids or doors open and make sure that the duplexer in the back is locked into position properly.

I had to search hard but the flashing lights troubleshooting guide is available here on the HP website.

Mis-feeds paper and thinks it has paper jam

the gears of the printer r worn out and they have hanve lost their allignment settings so this problem.either replace the gears.or the other solution.do not insert the paper in the tray ,keep it little bit outside and hold the end of the paper in hand when you will give a printout the printer will make a noise of picking the paper at that time just push the paper inside and then it will print properly.

Not printing

There is probably a paper jam in the tray feed path. The other situation is that the tray paper pick up roller has become hardened/polished, or the paper tray paper is greasy. First step, take the paper from the tray, and fan it out, so each sheet is separated from the next. try it with jut a dozen or so sheets, change the paper.

Thoroughly check the paper feed path.

If not working, then check/clean the rollers.
