Can I get my super in a lump sum and still get my Newstart allowance?

Only Centrelink can tell you and you probably will have to endure the grind of that appointment to find out. When you wade through the following, you discover that it will not affect Centrelink income tests but can affect Centrelink asset tests. It is hard to say you can chase down the answer other than out of the mouth of a Centrelink staffer.

Note there are other forms of payments such as bereavement that is accessible via Centrelink.

Hi, Im a full time career for my mother, in receipt of the careers allowance, I live with her.Are we entitled to any other allowance ? My mother is a widow and shes in receipt of the state pension

have a look at the following websites they may help.

https://www.gov.uk/carers-allowance/overview which has a link to
http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/social-care-and-support-guide/Pages/carers-assessment.aspx here seems to be an option to ask local council for additional help, may bhe monetary or additional support from other agencies/charities

also i think it states you have an option to reduce council tax if you havent already

the calculator below may give some additional guidance as it may accept options you havent thought about in the calculation
http://www.entitledto.co.uk/benefits-calculator/startcalc.aspx?e2dwp=y

I have advised Centrelink of my intention to make a claim for a carers allowance for Mary Hunter 420193182V. I now wish to make the claim. How do I proceed? John Hunter 420193115V....

Well you should not post personal details here.

You will have to visit Centrelink personally to fill out the form and sign it as you need to show them a current bank statement, and other details such a proof of identity such as a passport or birth certificate.

There are lots of ifs and buts in Centrelink requirements, so you need to call in and have an interview. It can't be dealt with here. By the way, don't lie, they know everything.

Centrelink human services au

My reading of the Centrelink site indicates that a plain sickness benefit is only available for those 22 yrs and above. There is a mobility allowance for those 16 yrs and over who are injured and wish to still look for work or study.

There are many ifs and buts in Centrelink eligibilty tho, you really have to vist a Centrelink office and get advice there. Don't lie, they know everything about you LOL
