This looks like a bad cable connection. Try using a new cable for the connection between the computer and monitor. If that does not work test you computer on another monitor to make sure you are getting signal output from the video card.Also check the monitor on another computer.This is to check and make sure the monitor is working properly.You can also try using a add on video card in the computer to see if you can use the monitor this way.If you still are having problems. At this point, the only good option is to send the unit in for service for the failed update. Acer should be the best choice, they are usually cheaper also.
