SOURCE: Bose Wave radio humming noise

Actually the problem was caused by a bad 470uf cap, that was used to filter the powersupply for all the analog amps. Replaced the cap the unit works like new.

SOURCE: can't remove battery of remote to bose radio/cd player (won't work)

On the back of the remote there is a small hole. You need to slide the small lock in the hole over and the battery compartment should pop open. This requires something small like a straightened paper clip. You may need to coax it a little with your finger by pushing out off the end of the remote. There is a picture of this on the back of my remote. I just removed my battery so i could replace it. The battery size is CR2032.

I repaired mine recently. Check transistor Q4 for an e-b short. The replacement costs less than $1.

SOURCE: Remote won't turn on the system. Has new

Unplug the speaker plug and the power plug. Let it sit for a minute. Plug the speakers in and then the power and try again. Hope this helps.I have seen this many times and this is usually the solution.

What caps might need replacement when a Bose AWRCC2 has ac hum?

It's not always, as everyone believes, that all capacitors are bad. In your particular case, the capacitors that would cause this, are the 2 large(in physical size and capacitance) directly off the bridge rectifier in the power supply.

Remote will not work volume or power use the play mode button the clock steady sets

Remove the cover and clean the volume and the power button with water or suitable spray for electronic circuits cleaning

if they didnt work. Put connector on the buttons to connect when pressed. Your cigarettes package paper can be cut in the size if the button and be put into the button rubber.to be used as connectir instead of the remote connector

tty this carefully and the buttons will work

Have a Bose wave Music Sys model AWRCC2 with stuck

Yes I think you can, get out your tools and take apart the unit, what do you have to loose you can always take it to a pro if you can't get it out. Be careful to unplug the unit. Don't force anything when you take it apart, be careful not to break any parts, put all pieces back together as you took them apart. Should be very straight forward if you are careful at what you do, get a bowl to put small parts in. Good Luck.....

The remote for my Bose Wave radio-CD no longer works. I have changed the battery and put a new battery into another Bose remote--no luck and I want to play my Christmas CDs! Help!

  • Reset the system by disconnecting the power cord from the wall for one minute, then plug it back in

  • Make sure you’re pointing the remote directly at your Wave® music system. If the system is placed above table-top height, be sure to angle the remote upward while pointing

  • Check for possible sources of interference with the remote’s infrared (IR) signal, such as bright lights or solar glare off of a window. Make sure nothing is blocking the path of the signal from the remote to the Wave® music system display. The remote will not work properly if there is something directly in front of the display

  • Wipe off the small clear lens on the front end of the remote

  • The remote is designed to work within 20' of the system. Greater distance may cause intermittent response

We have a bose wave music system model awrcc2 unit that made a poping sound & now it just buzzes. we can hear music but with a loud hum.

Sounds like you've blown a capacitor in the power supply section. Unfortunately, Bose does not release their parts lists or schematics, effectively creating a monopoly for parts and repairs. In fact, their web site says that the Bose factory is the only option for service or repair. They used to list a flat rate repair charge on the web site, but removed it - probably because it scared too many people. Their troubleshooting guide (below) might help, but it's very simplistic.

Before you invest in expensive factory repair on one of these trouble prone sets, you might want to investigate the new HD radios -- better sound at a MUCH lower price.

Cd "not playable" on Bose Wave AWrcc2

Sounds like a weak or bad optical pick-up. You could try gently cleaning it, but you'll probably have to send to Bose for repair.
