Does anyone know how many rooms and floors there are? I've been combing each episode trying to look at the reception desk and the elevator control panel but I can't seem to find anything solid.

That's maybe because Hotel Cortez has several walled corridors and secret rooms. However Hotel Cortez is inspired by the real Cecil Hotel, also located in Los Angeles which has 14 floors, maybe they get inspiration for floors count too. This is a photo of the exterior of the Hotel Cortez, which can come in handy. Remember to keep into account the dungeons and the Penthouse. Here , instead, Hotel Cortez plans as studied by Will Drake. As you can see there are several worksheets, unfortunately the picture is not really clear because of the colors. This is the board with the rooms keys at Gabriel's checking in. They seems to be approximately eighty rooms (also taking into account the numbers of known rooms).

What are "significant episodes?"

Those are just episodes which are heavily story-line centered. These are one's that you have to watch to understand the show. E.g. the Pilot or In Which We Meet Mr Jones ect.. Some Episodes are more pointed around the single story in that episode.

Why is his ex-wife played by a black woman in the third season when his children are clearly white?

C.K. has stated that he is not concerned with continuity and will change characters at will to fit the episode's story. In previous episodes, Louie's ex-wife was played by a white actress but only her hands were visible. In response to this, C.K. said on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!": "If the character works for the show, I don't care about the race." He continued: "When a black woman tells you to get a job, its just... more" In the first season, different actresses played Louie's mother and youngest daughter throughout the season. In the first season, Louie had a brother. But in the second season, he has two sisters and his brother is never mentioned. In one episode, his niece comes to stay with him for a seemingly extended period of time but is never seen again after that.

Does this anime follow the manga's storyline?

There are tiny changes in certain story arcs as well as an addition of filler episodes that usually take place after a canon story arc. or sometimes within a story arc. Occasionally some of the manga material that is removed is due to the material being inappropriate for the anime. However the plot and flow of the anime remains true to the original manga's plot and story. There are rare moments when a plot element in the anime contradicts the material in the manga but that is usually before the manga chapter to where that plot element becomes known is officially released, so there is no way for the show's production crew to know of this. This consisted of Zoro's ability to cut steel prior to the release of the Alabasta Arc chapters and the limit to Chopper's Rumble Ball consumption prior to the manga chapters of the CP9 saga.

Is South Park a real or fictional city?

A town just called South Park in Colorado is fictional. The town in the show is located in a geographical area known as the "South Park Basin" in Park County, Colorado. Both the basin and the county are real. Fairplay is a town mentioned occasionally in the show that is also located in both Park County and the South Park Basin, about 80 miles southwest of Denver. "South Park City" is a real area located within the town of Fairplay . More information about this location is available by clicking on the following link: http://www.southparkcity.org/.

What is the difference between "Hunter x Hunter (1999)" and "Hunter x Hunter (2011)" ?

Both series are anime based on the Japanese manga "Hunter x Hunter". The original series that aired in 1999 was produced by Nippon Animation, and while it did follow the manga for the most part, it also deviated in many ways. Parts of the original story were altered, as well as "filler" episodes, which are unique to the anime and not found anywhere in the manga. Unfortunately, the writing of the manga went on hiatus during the production of this series, and as a result, the 1999 series could not complete the Hunter x Hunter story. The 2011 series is produced by Madhouse Inc., and promises to follow the manga very closely. The manga has sinced resumed from hiatus, which should allow the 2011 series to animate episodes far beyond the 1999 series as well as the other Hunter x Hunter OVAs (Original Video Animations).

How historically accurate is this series?

The series is based on the novels I, Claudius and Claudius the God, written by Robert Graves in 1934 and 1935 respectively. Both novels and the series are written/played as an autobiography, suggesting Claudius wrote and concealed his account, believing an old prophecy that his work would be recovered 1900 years later, so future generations would learn of the murders, corruption and power struggle within the Roman Imperial family. It is indeed known that the real Claudius was a historian who wrote an autobiography spanning the same time period, that has since been lost. So the novels and series are not a direct adaptation of Claudius' work, like both novels andseries suggest. Instead, Graves based his story for a large part on the works of Roman historians Tacitus, Plutarch and Suetonius, and also from (transcripts of) speeches and letters made by the real Claudius (Claudius speech to the senate, reluctantly accepting the role of Emperor being the most notable). However, Graves also ignored several of the views in those historical works when they did not fit his narrative or character development (e.g. Claudius becoming a weak old man who is completely dominated by his family at the end of his life). Other elements that were mere conjecture in the historical literature were presented as facts in Graves' work (like Livia confessing several murders to Claudius). In short, the story has a firm base in historical facts, but has also been fictionalized to some degree.
