Replace the water inlet valve. They can stick when old and not used. It is directly behind the hose connector.

Google

make model water inlet valve

Buy online, but it is 'buyer beware', because it could also be the main control board. It will be a case of elimination, but start there.

Some links and a video of how to replace.

Danby portable Dishwasher advances from pre-rinse to dry and then beeps continuously and dry light continues to blink. Doesn't proceed, reset or stop cycle. Just continues to blink.

I actually found out (one of) the solution to this by accident. It could be the water source is not providing enough pressure

I purchased a Danby DDW1899W-1 and, using the connector screwed into my utility sink in the basement, I connected the water. When I tried to run a cycle, I had the same results (filled/emptied 4-5 times, beeped and went to dry cycle).

My alternate, long term plan was to put a Y-splitter (with shutoffs) on the hot water line for my washer, and have one hose go to the dishwasher when needed. I purchased a washer line hose from Home Depot and a 3/4" to Quick Connect fitting from Ace Hardware and then connected the dishwasher to this.

And, Voila! Problem solved!!!

To confirm this was the solution, after the first completed cycle, I connected back to the faucet and, once again had the fill/empty/beep/dry problem. Reverting to the split washer water feed, it was able to run the cycles properly (again!!!)

So you may just need a line that will supply more water pressure to the dishwasher.

Good luck and, hopefully, this solves the problem.

My Danby countertop dishwasher won't wash-the dishwasher detergent is never used at the end of the wash and nothing is clean

Was it working before, and now has stopped working? If so, it sounds like it has poor water circulation. It might be caused by a leak. If you have not noticed a leak, it might be clogging due to hard water deposits. Do you live in a region with hard water?

I turned on my Danby countertop dishwasher without water! and now it does not work at all. Someone help me please, how can i fix it!!!

unless it ran for quite a while there should be no damage. plug it into the water, add a few cups of water to the water to fill the sump and prime the pump and turn it on it should work then.

Our danby at home shuts itself off when there is no water so I'm assuming thats what you are seeing.

What kind of salt do I buy for use in the Danby DW?

Hi there,

Well Dishwasher salt is a particular grade of sodium chloride salt, and is used for recharging the built-in ion-exchange resins of the water softener in dishwashers that have a built-in water softener. The salt particles are larger than the size of table salt particles, and dissolves slowly enough that it will not clog the softener unit. This salt does not have added iodide salts, and it should have minimal amounts of iron and manganese salts. Some dishwasher detergents are marketed as not needing dishwasher salts. These detergents use higher levels of phosphate that increases the solubility of hard water ions. Never use table salt or detergent in the salt compartment of your dishwasher as this will damage your water softener unit. You can purchase the dishwasher salt from the below link -

Good Luck!!

Thanks

Danby dishwasher E3 error

Same issue here so I just got off the phone with Danby. They said the E3 means the water is not hot enough when it goes into the machine. Now I dont know your guys situation but I let the water run hot until I cant touch it anymore, then I turn on the machine and plug it in. So it sounds like the heating mechanism is not working properly and does not heat the water to the appropriate temp to continue with the cycle. I will say that their support was really friendly and she informed me that since it was purchased less than a year ago it would be covered under the warranty. She gave me the number of a local repair shop. Lets just hope they dont tell me nothing is wrong with it because my water temp is fine. I will let ya guys know. Here is the number for Danby that I called. General office: 419-425-5052. Good Luck!

Salt for DDW1805 Danby

I use ordinary household water softener salt crystals, not pellets, or table salt. The table salt often is not as refined as softener crystals, and can damage the dishwasher's softener in time. Also, the water softener salt comes in a large bag (around 25-50 lbs) for about $6 US.

Yes, it can be, pretty easy 2 hour or so task. My husband did it with the help of a local plumbing shop. Take pictures of the back of your unit and go to a shop, they'll set you up with what you need to do it.
