Well, in that case, make sure you have backup of the images on them, then format them.

My macbook air does not have an optical drive how can I get the soft ware for my kodak dx 4530 on my computer?

You don't need any special software.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo cataloging program.

This error message means that the card is corrupted or formatted for another digital camera. Turn off the camera. Insert a new card or format the card.

Purchased new 2gb memory card however camera states memory card is full

Did you navigate through your camera's menu and find the card format selection? You need to format your memory cards when new, and it is also best practice to format the card after each time you use it and remove the pictures you want to keep.

When i put a new memory card in, the camera reads "memory card needs formatting", but when i click format, it does nothing

While some Easyshare cameras will use SDHC cards, the documentation for the Z740 states that it uses MMC and SD cards.

Try using an SD card. If that works, then stay with SD cards. If that doesn't, then there's something else wrong.

My Kodak DX 4530 says my 4GB SDHC Card needs to be formatted but it won't do it

The DX4530 works with MMC and SD cards. While your SDHC card fits into the slot, it is electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to use MMC or SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

You apparently took some pics using the internal memory. Now, to get the camera to use the card again, you must format the internal memory with no memory card in the camera.

Camera will not read memory card

Your camera is only supporting SD/MMC Cards (up to 2 GB)

The card that you currently have might be faulty. Please try another card.
You might also need to switch the camera over to saving pictures directly onto the SD card.1: Menu, Cam settings, Chose AUTO or SD card option Press OK
Note: If the SD card isn't in the camera or is unreadable the camera will automatically go back to saving you taken pictures on the internal memory.

Memory Card Slot Not letting it insert fully, seat, lock in place

It may be that you are trying to put it in backwards. It can go in only one way, contacts first. The last bit in "is" spring loaded so it will take a "little" force. If it truly will no go down pull it out, spin it 180 degrees and try installing it again.
