Can i use my washing machine with no lid switch

as long as everything is working it's ok,all it is is a safety switch so the washer won't run with the lid open,a kid could open the lid when it's spinning and it won't shut down and if the kid sticks his or her hand or arm inside it could get ugly so it's a safety switch that's it.

Washer wont cycle

Number 11 is your lid switch. It is very easy to repair. To test it watch the video.
Older models would wash with the lid open but not spin. This later model washer won't wash or spin with the lid open so I suspect you have a broken lid switch. IF that turns out not to be the case then I would next check the motor start capacitor. When these fail the motor won't work at all.

My washer has been stopping mid-cycle like the lid was opened lately. I have been able to open and close the lid to "jar" it into finishing the cycle(rinsing) until now. It has just stopped and...

The lid switch will need a slight adjustment to properly activate, or you could bend the raised bump on the back of the lid out a bit so it activates the switch better.

Popped the lid open to change vacuum cleaner bag...now lid won't close. It's stuck at 90 degree angle. Is a button to release it?

Hi bndennis,

Please check the spring on your lid, it may be keeping the door open. Miele vacuum cleaners mainly use a spring concept for keeping lids open - merely pushing it down will lock it at the bottom.

Kind Regards :-)

Check the lid switch for continuity.
If open,replace the lid switch.
If the lid switch is OK check the direct drive coupling on the motor.
