SOURCE: possible causes of failure in booting PC

There are indeed many naby causes for the BSOD, unfortunately... however it is  usually a "Driver" issue, but not always. Often the Display Driver. What you need to do is, remove any thing attached, & try to boot into SAFE MODE,with networking, press F8 at bootup... and then, either,, try a System Restore, back to an earlier time when was OK. OR troubleshoot via the  Msconfig, command. Start->Run->Msconfig (enter) This will bring up a set  of tabs  select startup tab and disable all. Try a restart, if it does, stay in safe mode, then re-enable them, ,  one by one until it hangs up... there is your problem. Remove/Update that software. If that doesn't  work.. It may be a virus too.. do an extensive scan. Sometimes it is handy to run "Housecall"  this is a very good online Virus scanner.

Zanussi zdt 6053 usually will not run full cycle (on any cycle) but stops with constant error beeps. But it is draining ok and sometimes goes full cycle (not often) Any ideas?

Could be anything!
If you suspect that there is a fault then it will be displayed by blinking LED "END OF CYCLE". As the display of failure in hexadecimal code it can flash up to max. 15 times than short pause and after that repeat fault code. You must to count the number of times the LED "END OF CYCLE" flash up.

Example from user manual: Anti-flood device is activated.
- continuous flashing of the indicator light of the running programme
- 3 intermittent audible signals
- 3 flashes of the END OF CYCLE indicator light
(which means "i30" fault code, the cycle is interrupted and the
drain pump switches on).
Possible causes:
Water leakage from the tub - sump and various connections
(pump, upper spray arm duct etc.); floating sensor blocked
mechanically; microswitch faulty; fill solenoid blocked
mechanically; circuit board faulty (solenoid triac short-circuited);
wiring faulty.
26226179-aipk5px1bmfkdpsmrgevaqwn-3-1.jpg Could be also:
To cancel a washing programme in progress:
- Open the dishwasher's door.
- Press the programme selection/cancel button for about 3 seconds,
until the indicator light of the running programme turns off and the
END OF CYCLE indicator light flashes, indicating that the running
programme has been cancelled and that the machine has
returned to setting mode. It is now possible to select another
washing programme. If a new washing programme will be
selected, check that there is detergent in the detergent dispenser.

NOTE: only during the drying phase, if the dishwasher's door will be opened and remains open for more then 30 seconds, the running programme will be automatically cancelled and the machine will return to setting mode. This will happen, always only during the drying phase, also when the machine is switched off by pressing the
On/Off button and remains switched off for more then 30 seconds.

What makes a 04 envoy run hot and lose oil?

A hot running engine is usually caused by a cooling system problem. Make sure the coolant level is full and the thermostat.. rad fan.. radiator cap and water pump are all functioning correctly. Make sure there are no restrictions in front of the radiator to obstruct air flow and coolant circulates properly throughout the radiator. As for losing oil, check for the obvious..... Leaks. If no major leaks and you have a high mileage engine, suspect the oil to be burning within the engine. A constantly hot running engine can also cause the oil to break down quicker resulting in consumption, especially if oil changes are neglected

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY WATER PUMP IS BAD?

There are a number of hints that can signal failure. The obvious ones are when the pump fails catastrophically and causes rapid water loss, the fan wobbles and possible damages the radiator, etc.
However, that is not always the case in impending failures. Squealing can be a sign of pump bearing failure. Pudding of coolant under the front center of the vehicle is a telltale sign of pump leakage. Water pumps have a "weep hole" that lets a small amount of coolant escape when the bearing sleeve is wearing out. But you can be losing coolant from the pump and not see the puddle because in the early stages of failure, the pump will only weep while running. Then the fan blows the coolant back onto the block where it evaporates. You can look for the weep hole on the bottom side of the water pump where the shaft enters the sleeve. Look for signs of coolant streaking or small gatherings of coolant on engine parts just below the pump. The primary consideration is that there is coolant going missing. You may be able to remove the serpentine belt and wiggle the pump shaft to see if there is any side-to-side play in it. There should be none.

Why does Water pump keep failing?

HI Clark
You didnt mention type of car and engine but I will try for to look at the alignment of the pulley on the waterpump and relation to the other pulleys it could be there is a stress factor put on these water pumps to fail as you say. One must find the cause,, would you have the orignal pump to match it up with the rebuilt ones? you may endup going to a dealer and borrow to match up with the ones they keep putting on from the same supplier.Make sure you have no vibration coming from all these pulleys they seem of replaced something is out of tune to blow those seals in a water pump they are doubled sealed.Or are you getting new ones?..... missing info no problem I wouldve love to tackle this problem when I was in the trade.;)

Problem p2187

Hi, below you will see the diag chart we are confronted with. the problem could be one of several in the list. We can narrow out some like bad o2 sensor, exhaust leaks, fuel leaks etc but I am now thinking of narrow down to possible early fuel pump failure signs. Fuel is stored in tanks underground and is ice cold when you pump it. the fuel pump runs at very high speed and hot and the gas cools it. When you shut off car at the pump, the fuel pump actually increases in temp, hit it with ice cold gas from the fuel pump, and they can react by not pumping or pumping slow. Most fuel pump failures happen at a gas station. the miss at idle, lean fuel condition and then the stall out, leads to the pump but... a fuel pressure test under different conditions will have to confirm this. O2 sensors normally do not cause a running problem, just light and maybe bad gas mileage. Not a fuel filter as the problem would be constant. I am going to say weak fuel pump. cant be 100% as this is by elimination primarily and not looking at scan data. I hope at least you know what the worst case scenario would be.

Service engine soon light is flashing

Have the car scanned for the code's origin. This could mean that the engine will not work as well as it should, and could cause driveability isues.

A constant service engine soon light means that a hard code exists. A flashing light means that an intermittent code exists, but it could become a hard code very quickly.

Flash not discharging

its seems to me that the alignment of your flash setting in its cubicle has been disturbed, possibly by the camera being pressed in your bag. if you cant get it to operate normally, I suggest that you get it done professionally by Pentax.
The reason I am saying this, is cause firstly Pentax is good and branded camera. The settings and all teh mechanism's of this camera are very delicate and you will only damage something within it by forcing your flash out everytime you want to use it.
