Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

There are a number of reasons why your Dyson cleaner is pulsating off and on. First, it maybe due to a battery of the cleaner. Make sure that the power cable is properly plug to the power and seated properly from the unit while charging. If you find that the battery isn't charging at all, you may need to replace the battery. Second is to check the MAX button of your cleaner. If the button lights up and flashes when your Dyson keeps on pulsating, press and hold the power button and depress the MAX button to turn off the function. You may need to do it for a few times to get the hang of it. Third is to check for any blockages or clogs in the attachments. Look down through the tube and check to see if there are clogs on the sweeper end or if the roller is tangled up in fibers. Clean the roller brush are if it it's necessary. You may need to empty the dust bin of your unit as debris can build up in hard to reach places. Lastly, cleaning the filters may fix the pulsating of your cleaner. Remove the filter and rinse it with cold water and air dry it for 12 hours. Don't use detergent when washing your filters. If the pulsating doesn't go with the given quick fix, I suggest to contact Dyson for further assistance on this.

My dyson V6 keeps pulsing on and off

It could be the filters need cleaned or replaced. Try turning it on without the filters on it, if it doesn't pulse on and off it may mean the filters are restricted and need cleaned or replaced. Do not use the vacuum without filters.

Dyson cordless fully charged but cuts out and pulses when on high, cut will work on the economical speed. It have been emptied, so no dirt in the cup.

Based on the symptoms I would say the battery is defective and not taking a full charge this causes low voltage and that gives the symptoms you have.

I just received my cordless dyson vac. i charged it for 3 hrs and started vac. it lasted 10 mim . how long should the power last? I'm very very frustrated.

Although your Dyson vac is new, the battery may not be and it is failing to charge. Another possibility is that the charger is defective

I have charged battery overnight but when running motor is pulsing.

Hi Marilyn, it's Jack at Dyson.

Your Dyson cordless vacuum is engineered to pulse to let you know if something is preventing airflow from passing through the machine. This could be due to a temporary blockage in the floor tool, wand or bin inlet. To check your machine for blockages, just follow the steps shown in our video guide:

Please note your machine may differ visually to the one shown in the video guide, but the process for checking for blockages will be very similar. Make sure the bin inlet flap can open and shut freely, and has not been jammed shut by any debris.

I'm confident this will resolve the issue, but you're welcome to call the Dyson Customer Helpline if you need further advice after giving this a try. You can reach us by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Why does my fully charged DC59 keep turning on and off

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC59's motor will make a rapid pulsing noise to warn you if something is stopping airflow from passing through the machine. The motor will then shut off for protection.

This should be quick and easy to resolve by checking the motorised floor tool, wand and bin inlet for blockages. It's also a good idea to give the washable pre-filter a rinse in cold water if this hasn't been done recently - we recommend washing it at least once a month. Make sure the filter is allowed to dry completely for at least 24 hours before replacing it.

I'm confident this will resolve the issue. If you would like further assistance after giving these steps a try, please call the Dyson Customer Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).
