SOURCE: My Dyson DC07 won't turn on!

you may have a broken belt. Bad news regarding all Dyson's. You can't replace just the belt your self. You have to purchase a new belt assembly which includes the gears. And it wont be cheap. I would call it a design flaw but i am sure that dyson calls it a profit scheme.

SOURCE: Removing the battery

The battery is located at the bottom of the handle. To release it, press and hold down the button on top of the battery case (it has 3 ridges on it). That releases a catch and you can then slide the battery out to the rear.

SOURCE: I have a Dyson vacuum. The vacuum won't stay

My vacuum had this exact same problem, but was out of warranty because it was remanufactured. Thankfully, it's a very quick, five-minute fix.

  1. UNPLUG The Vacuum!
  2. Remove the cannister.
  3. Extend the handle and remove it.
  4. Remove the two torx (T-15) screws behind the power button, where the handle normally stows.
  5. There are four tabs holding the front plate containing the power button on; use your screwdriver to release them.
  6. Gently pull the front plate off.
  7. The switch on the right is the power button. Remove it, try clicking it a few times; if it sticks, great! Replace it and reassemble, otherwise you'll need to replace it.

The V6 seems to be permanently on 'Max'

Hi Sandy, it's Jack at Dyson.

Our V6 cord-free vacuums have two power modes. There's regular high power for day to day vacuuming tasks, and Max mode for tackling really stubborn dirt, clinging pet hair etc.

To change between modes, you need to hold down the red on/off trigger so the vacuum is running. Then at the same time, press and release the illuminated Max button on the rear of the main body. You'll hear a change in the sound the motor makes when you switch between modes:

I can't the the max mode to turn off. How do I fix this?

Hi Kayla, it's Jack at Dyson.

To switch between Max mode and regular mode, first hold down the red on/off trigger, so the vacuum is running. Then at the same time, press and release the Max button on the rear of the machine. The machine is designed in this way to make Max button can't be activated accidentally. When running in Max mode, the button will light up.

I hope this information helps, If you'd like any additional advice, you're welcome to give the Dyson Customer Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

How do I change from MAX to normal on my Dyson59 vacuum cleaner.

Hi Betty, it's Jack at Dyson.

To change your DC59's power level from Max to normal, just hold down the on/off trigger so the vacuum is running, then at the same time press and release the Boost button on the rear of the machine. When Max mode is activated, the Boost button will light up - when normal mode is activated, the Button will not light up.

How do I remove battery from hand held vacuum?

Hi Alan, it's Jack at Dyson.

If you own a Dyson DC16 handheld vacuum, the battery removes at the push of a button. Press the catch and pull the battery away from the machine horizontally. If you're fitting a replacement battery, this will attach to the machine in the same way.

If you own a different model of Dyson handheld vacuum, please reply to confirm which model you have so we can provide further advice.

Max is on

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

From what you've described, it sounds as if the battery may not be charged. If your machine has been allowed to recharge for over 5.5 hours but still has no power, there may be an issue with the battery or the charger. However in order to confirm this, and to help resolve the issue, we'd need to take you through some further diagnostic checks over the phone when you have the machine to hand.

When you have a moment, please give the Dyson Customer Helpline a call - you can reach us on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Why is my Dyson DC59 is empty but the max light is on and it won't work

it would mean that your air flow is gone or you have a plug in it some where about 90 % of all bag full or max light work on air flow

Dyson dc35 max button gets stuck

I found my MAX button had a crack in it, which was causing it to grab on the sides of the button hole, I tried various methods to free the button, but in the end I resorted to ripping the button cap off. Below the button cap is the max/normal switch itself. It now functions as it should, but is missing the MAX button cap, not really an issue for me, though if I could find a new MAX button somewhere I'd put it on, it looks like it should push straight on.

My dyson dc35 hand vacuum cuts out constantly while in use despite a full charge and clean filter

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

There are a number of reasons why your Dyson is acting that way. First, it can be due to a battery of the cleaner. Make sure that the power cable is properly plug to the power and seated properly from the unit while charging. If you find that the battery isn't charging at all, you may need to replace the battery. Second is to check the MAX button of your cleaner. If the button lights up and flashes when your Dyson keeps on pulsating, press and hold the power button and depress the MAX button to turn off the function. You may need to do it for a few times to get the hang of it. Third is to check for any blockages or clogs in the attachments. Look down through the tube and check to see if there are clogs on the sweeper end or if the roller is tangled up in fibers. Clean the roller brush are if it it's necessary. You may need to empty the dust bin of your unit as debris can build up in hard to reach places. Lastly, cleaning the filters may fix the pulsating of your cleaner. Remove the filter and rinse it with cold water and air dry it for 12 hours. Don't use detergent when washing your filters. If the pulsating doesn't go with the given quick fix, I suggest to contact Dyson for further assistance on this.
