SOURCE: miss firing
could be a wire crossed, or it's out of time. since you used motorcraft plugs, did you set them properly to the correct gap? replacing plugs without gapping them can cause the sluggishness, out of time can cause the mis-fires and rough running.

You need power on both sides of the coil with key on engine off. With test light on neg side of coil you should get flashing light with engine cranking. No flashing indicates no trigger from ign module. No flashing can also mean the pick-up is faulty. To check pick-up dissconnect from module and use analoge meter set on ohms.Check meter movement during crank. If o/k check rotor for burn through.and change module.

Check out the induction coil fuse plus wiring if it has got damaged while replacing the plugs, coil, etc, since current is not reaching the plugs to initiate the firing .. sodeep

I have a craftman leaf blower that will not spark the plug, using a test light without the plug and just grounding the end to the housing. The light will blink real bright turning the flywheel. But when i connect the test light to the plug and ground it to the housing. The test light will not blink. All wires are disconnected from ignition module. Is my ignition module bad ?,and then why does the light blink when i ground test light. For test light to blink seems module should be good. I re-tried to set gap several times with same results ...set gap with a index card i have also use a aluminum can in the past.

if your getting no fuel at all to the carb then its the petcock valve it works off of vacume so take fuel line off and spin it over if fuel runs out then its fine that means your needle valve in carb maybe stuck. and in my case a stick pulled the vacume line off the intake that controls the petcock valve.
