SOURCE: I have an Eclipse CD7000

It is possible that the shorting might have resulted in creating a damage within the set and it must be probed first with the power connected diectly , then the swithced power and tthe ground. now trace the power +12 to the main circuit after switched power is on.
If there is a line fuse you are lucky as much a fusible resisitor.
If there is power to mP then check for oscillations , the allied circuits.
If set powers up check the output IC,possible if the output has shorted the protecction canbe ON. so disconnect power to IC and check.

I have a Kenwood KAC-9104D that will power on but not produce any sound??

Be sure the RCA cables are attached and in good condition.
Be sure the remote wire from the deck is hooked up and good.
Be sure the GAIN control is turned up.
Volume on head unit is up. Make sure BASS options are not turned off on deck.
Be sure wires are going the right way. + to + & - to -
Loose wires in the box. Make sure subs are hooked to the terminals inside box.
Check all fuses on amp to determine if 1 or more i blown.

I cannot get the auxiliary to work on my kenwood kdc- mp235, what do I press to make it work

Most head units come w/ connections for both auxiliary units (for an amp, etc) and the line for the power antenna. in the past when my deck would stop sending a signal via the auxiliary, I would simple use the power antenna. It pretty much just lets the amp or whatever know when to turn on. Separately however, most newer decks have a way to turn off the auxiliary via the menu settings. I might start w/ that if your kenwood happened to be a newer deck.

How to hook up a kenwood amp.kac-5204

All amps are basicly the same. It should be plain as day where the speakers connect to.
The 12V screw connects to the main power from battery, be sure to fuse that wire and use a proper size wire, thicker is better,I suggest at least 8gauge with 40amp fuse. The GND is ground and should connect to car metal, file paint for soild connection. The REM is remote and connects to the remote of headunit or if you have a stock deck to the acc of car found in wire harness of headunit. Plug in the RCA's to head unit, or get a converter to plug into speaker wires from car if you have a stock headunit.

Amp will not come on ,no light

Yes!!!!!!!!!! Your remote wire is what tells your amplifier to turn on and off it won't work without it. Assuming your stereo headunit is an after market unit it has the correct wire for this. what you have to do is pull out you headunit, and in the back of the headunit where all the wires plug into your unit there is blue wire with a white stripe. this is the remote turn on wire. connect a wire to that blue n white wire and run it back to your amp, insert it into to the spot marked remote. turn your head unit on and your amp will power up... if you have all the rca cables hooked up your amp should be ready to go.... btw good choice on the amp, kenwood is the way to go!

Most likely the RCA's are running from the sub out on the deck to the amp. You need to run two sets of RCA's for a 4 channel amp. One for the sub out and one to the front or rear channel.

Hope this helps.

Kenwood kdc-mp528 amp/speaker problem???

This is a common mistake. This problem indicates that you are using the solid blue wire from the head unit to the remote turn-on on the amp. This is a power antenna wire that only receives power when on FM radio. You need to replace this with the Blue & White wire from the head unit (power control wire) to your remote turn-on on your amp. This should solve your issue.

Auxilary RCA inputs have no volume control

Your problem stems from the fact that the CDA-7892 is not equipped with an RCA aux-input jack. If you're plugged into RCA connectors at the back of the head unit, they're outputs, not inputs. The sound you hear is just feeding back through the outputs and into the head unit's amplifier. If you want to play your iPod through this head unit, you need to purchase either the auxiliary input adapter (KCA-121B) or iPod adapter (KCA-420i).
