SOURCE: 20 year old central a/c heater not working

Check your thermostat and mode selector setting, thermostat setting should be set at warmer and mode selector setting should be at low heat or hight this is applicable for manual unit.
If it is a remote control just set the remote to heat mode.

SOURCE: dryer not heating up

I hate to tell you but get ready for more problems with this drier, it has a bad track record. In some cases cleaning the condensor out and drying the unit well will allow the unit to function again. Once a month you need to empty the condenser unit, this is under the bottom panel at the front of the tumble dryer, you simply pull the panel down, undo the condenser and pull it out (it is normal for there to be some water in the tubes when you do this), you then have to flush the condenser by pouring water through it in either your sink or tub. Make sure that there is plenty of room around the drier and empty the water container often. This curcuitry of this unit it sensitive to high humidity and can cause the unit to not function properly. So with condensing dryers you have to work on keeping them clean. Let me know how it goes. Later DRRXR

SOURCE: a/c not blowing cool air

hello. I can help you. There are several possible reasons for your problem Here they are. Read them over and it will give you insights into how your A/C works.

Is the thermostat knob turned to the proper setting? Is the compressor motor running? The compressor is a football-sized case with no apparent moving parts. It is located inside the air conditioner at the center. Is it humming or making any kind of continuous noise or causing the lights to dim? If it is making a continuous noise, and your air conditioner is still not cooling at all, there may be a serious problem with one or more of these areas:

  • Compressor

  • Condenser

  • Evaporator

These items are not user serviceable. You will need to contact a qualified appliance repair technician to repair these components.

If the compressor is not running but you do have power to the air conditioner there may be a problem in one or more of these areas:

  • Compressor

  • Overload and/or relay

  • Thermostat (Open thermostat)

  • Burnt wiring

  • Bad selector switch

  • Capacitor

The air is cool but doesn't seem cold enough If the air doesn't seem cool enough it is necessary to use a thermometer to check the difference in temperature between the air going into the unit and the air being blown into the room. Ideally, the temperature difference should be more than 15 degrees. For example, if the temperature going into the air conditioner is 80 degrees, the temperature coming out of the unit should be at least 65 degrees or less. If the difference is 15 degrees or more there is probably no cause for concern. If the temperature difference is less than 15 degrees you should check the following:

  • Air damper

Check to make sure the air damper is closed. If it's open, it will bring in outside air and reduce the efficiency of the unit.

  • Back cover

During the winter season many people cover their air conditioners to protect the unit from the weather. In the spring or summer they will sometimes forget to remove the cover. If your unit has a cover on the outside portion of the air conditioner remove the cover first.

  • Condensing coils

The condensing coils will always be on the "warm" side of the air conditioner. That is, on the side that faces outside of the room to be cooled. Air is drawn into the back of the air conditioner on the sides through vent slots and is blown directly out through the condenser coils. If the coils get clogged with lint, dust and dirt the cooling system cannot provide the cooling necessary. To clean the coils it will be necessary to remove the entire cover of the air conditioner or pull it out of the wall to gain access to the coils. They can be cleaned by blowing compressed air at them or by using a soft bristle brush to wipe the dirt off. It is important to also clean any dirt or lint build-up in the bottom of the air conditioner so the condensate water will be picked up by the condensing fan slinger properly.

How do you make your old wall air conditioners blow refridgerated air again?

I'm pretty sure those work just like the AC unit in a home or car/truck/SUV. If they are low on Freon the cooling unit (compressor) will not engage...so the air that it IS blowing is just recirculated air (the air from the room). Try looking for a HVAC company in your air...see if they can give you a (free) estimate. If it's not the Freon, then it's possible it could be the compressor is bad.
Good luck!

How to correctly use ducted air cond control Avion/micron? brand

Well Steve

The fact that it was cold shouldn't make a difference if the service tech knew what he was doing. ok now as far as getting it to work correctly. before you start any work on this thing. please dear god make sure the power is off to it and you check it with a multi-meter. just recently i got lit up by 480 volt 3 phase. 3rd degree burns on my arm and hand and many other things. so please cut the power off at the braker. ok you want the wall mount in a central location about eye level or just under. the universal highth is 5'5 but its all up to you. another thing you can do is change your remote to an all electronic one. you can pick one up for as little as 15$ most are simple though some can be a pain. also make sure that both the evap coils and condenser coils are clean. ensure that all fans are working corectly and that your compressor is pumping right. unless your pretty AC savvy you will have to have a tech come back out. the bad thing about AC systems is its never just one thing. good luck hoped this helped you

Will not cool properly.

You have either a faulty thermostat, dirty condenser and evaporator or a faulty run capacitor. Need to service soon before the compressor is damaged. Sea Breeze

Fridge problem

I don't know about the hot points for sure, but all the maytags (I used to work for maytag) have a damper valve in the air tunnel that feeds cold air to the refrigerator. If the damper went bad, it would block cold air flow into the refrigerator. (assuming this model has a damper)
