Question about HP Pavilion dv6000 Motherboard
Hi. I'd like to know if there is another Motherboard that will fit my HP dv6000. It currently has a 443775-001 which I believe has failed (it is one month outside their extended warranty and I don't want to pay HP $425 to fix it). Since I am going to replace the motherboard I was wondering if I could upgrade it at the same time. The biggest issue I have is with the lousy performance of the 6150 Go graphics card.
Actually mr hp pro your wrong ....the 443774-001 hp motherboard will fit in that case i did that and my laptop works fine even more so better than before. I am a local computer tech from benton mo. and i will be helping others from people like you whop try to get people to spend all kinds of money when they dont need to and by the way that motherboard i mentioned goes for about 68.00 on ebay!

Just to clarify things, the boards "ARE" different. The 443774-001 have a different video card wich adds an extra chip on the borad. This chip requires cooling and for that reason the cooling fan and heatsink from the 444775-001 will "NOT" work on the 442774-01 board.
Conclusion, if you by the 443774-001 to upgrade from a 443775-001, make sure you also by the heatsink and fan for it.

Unfortunately there is no other HP motherboard which will fit in that case, so i'm afraid that your stuck with that type of motherboard graphics.
You can get a replacement board from ebay from around 123.954 USD here >>>>>>
The only way i can suggest you upgrade the laptop is to install the maximum memory possible (usually up to 2 gig), this will help the graphics performance.

Hello, my laptop is a HP Pavilion DV9683, and my motherboard is a 447982-001 with the 8400GS and 128MB nvidia chip...
my graphics card died this week, outside of the extended warranty...
I have seen stores selling my board, and I have also seen stores selling the next iteration of my board, the 447983-001 wich have a 256MB chip,
this boards are the same except for the chip.
Looking around I have found the boards for the DV9000 series of the consecutive year of my laptop,
this are the 461068-001 and 461069-001, this boards belong to the DV9700-DV9800-DV9900 series,
mine was upto DV9600. I have seen the pictures of both boards, mine (the 447982-001) and the next year (the 461069-001) wich have a 8600 nvidia chip with 512MB...
and they look exactly the same, and both are intel 965 chipsets my question is...
Can I use the 461069-001 to upgrade my DV9600 laptop? I think only the graphics chip was changed but Im not totally sure
this are the pics form both boards, firstone is mine and the second one is the next year board (this picture is upside down)
