Question about HP Pavilion dv6000 Motherboard

Upgrade for dv6000 laptop (from 443775-001) motherboard

Hi. I'd like to know if there is another Motherboard that will fit my HP dv6000. It currently has a 443775-001 which I believe has failed (it is one month outside their extended warranty and I don't want to pay HP $425 to fix it). Since I am going to replace the motherboard I was wondering if I could upgrade it at the same time. The biggest issue I have is with the lousy performance of the 6150 Go graphics card.

Can you give some advice concerning the apparent incompatibility of the wireless card from the old mobo (459565-001) which is not being picked up in the Bios for the new (443774-001) bboard?

Just to clarify things, the boards "ARE" different. The 443774-001 have a different video card wich adds an extra chip on the borad. This chip requires cooling and for that reason the cooling fan and heatsink from the 444775-001 will "NOT" work on the 442774-01 board.
Conclusion, if you by the 443774-001 to upgrade from a 443775-001, make sure you also by the heatsink and fan for it.

Hi Heath,
Unfortunately there is no other HP motherboard which will fit in that case, so i'm afraid that your stuck with that type of motherboard graphics.
You can get a replacement board from ebay from around 123.954 USD here >>>>>>|66%3A2|39%3A1|72%3A2134|293%3A1|294%3A50

The only way i can suggest you upgrade the laptop is to install the maximum memory possible (usually up to 2 gig), this will help the graphics performance.

Hello, my laptop is a HP Pavilion DV9683, and my motherboard is a 447982-001 with the 8400GS and 128MB nvidia chip... my graphics card died this week, outside of the extended warranty... I have seen stores selling my board, and I have also seen stores selling the next iteration of my board, the 447983-001 wich have a 256MB chip, this boards are the same except for the chip. Looking around I have found the boards for the DV9000 series of the consecutive year of my laptop, this are the 461068-001 and 461069-001, this boards belong to the DV9700-DV9800-DV9900 series, mine was upto DV9600. I have seen the pictures of both boards, mine (the 447982-001) and the next year (the 461069-001) wich have a 8600 nvidia chip with 512MB... and they look exactly the same, and both are intel 965 chipsets my question is... Can I use the 461069-001 to upgrade my DV9600 laptop? I think only the graphics chip was changed but Im not totally sure this are the pics form both boards, firstone is mine and the second one is the next year board (this picture is upside down)

You can't really put just any motherboard in a DV6000 cause nothing will fit. You can try Ebay for another motherboard or you can try fixing the board yourself depending on the problem with the board. check out

I have an HP DV6700 Laptop Computer. The internal powersupply prong is loose...How can I fix it?

The laptop needs to be disassembled down to the motherboard, the power plug is not soldered to the motherboard, it is actually a satellite card attached to the motherboard via a small cable. The entire assembly can be purchased on Ebay for under 30 bucks. Below is an example of the listing. I will include a link to an illustrated disassembly guide.

HP Pavilion dv6000 plugged in not charging, I have a new battery.....PLZ Help.

Its the DC charging jack that you plug the charger into on one of the sides of the laptop. Do a google search, go and search for "HP dv6000 DC jack problem charging" (leave out the quotes) and you will see this is a common issue with the dv6000 and laptops in general. Many will just replace the whole laptop motherboard as the DC jack is attached to the board. If you know what you're doing, you change out the jack, quick repair job and keep your own board, but fixed. I would fix it if it were mine. You may be able to find someone local online but if you need someone to do the repair, I'm in the repair directory, as are many others qualified.

Note: It may come to a point, or the situation may just fit better to replace the entire board instead of the port alone. This is usually when the jack is not seated and easily replaceable, or if you are under warranty, HP will replace the whole board.

Hi guys i broke the left button on my hp pavilion dv6 1210sa note book and can not find replacement part i dont want to use a exturnal mouse either thanks

Well first you'll need to know how to take your laptop apart so I did find a website that can help you with that:

The only problem is that you would need to replace the whole motherboard to actually get a "working" mouse. Sorry, I feel your pain.
