Look inside the machine where the vent is, it could be clogged, giving off excess heat, to the sensor, try vacuuming it out thoroughly it is a major fire hazard to have lint build ups in dryers, Good Luck!

My dryer wasn't getting hot so I checked it out and RAIN was sitting in the Vent line that lead outside. But, not it's not getting hot at ALL!!!!??????

Since moisture has gotten inside the machine, it has probably shorted something out to control the element, or the element itself is shorted, or if it is gas, has the pilot light been extinguished?

Dryer stops running

Sounds like control board issues. You can look up the code on the internet with your model number.

Dryer problems

Check your the complete venting system. Turn the dryer on and feel the back vent to see if you have any heat at all. If not could be a valve issue or thermostat problem. On newer dryers they have glow plugs, so no pilot light.
