Working on a Rheem 90+ gas fired furnace with A/C. Replaed the 24vac fuse twice now. Unit runs 1-3 days then blows the fuse. Thoughts?

Is your unit in the cooling mode? And if it is trace down the wires that go outside to the unit trace the thermostat wire we call it two wire. Now look for a bare place where the wires could be touching each other. If you find a place either wrap some electrical tape around it or just cut out the wire and replace from that point on to the condenser. If you need any further help just ask and will help you out.

Could be a couple of things check the low voltage wiring going from the furnace to the outside unit. It will look like a small telephone wire. Sometimes rodents like to chew this wire and it can cause a short which will blow the small fuse.

How do i prime the water trap on a rheem classic 90

This trap will fill itself up when the furnace runs for the first time. It does not need to be primed to make it work. If you have the drain end above another p trapped drain.

On occasion, my furnace will not kick on at

If your Rheem furnace is less than 10 years old, it may store an error code to help you figure out if it is the furnace or the thermostat. Look at the circuit board for a blinking light. If you have to remove the panel that opens up the door safety switch, it will erase the code. Look for a small viewing port. Next time the furnace fails, prior to doing all the things you did last time, look thru the viewing port to count the number of blinks. Once you get the number, open the cabinet and on the wiring diagram glued to the back of one of the panels'\; there will also be an error code chart. It may give you a starting point where to look. If you have no error code, chances are that your thermostat is freaking out or has a bad connection. Hope this helps.

My goodman gas furnace is not kicking on. the light on the unit is saying that it should be working but it is not. there is no pilot light, the fan is working the heat is not

If you are not getting any codes from the board, then the furnace is not getting a call for heat from the thermostat. A wire may have come off, the thermostat not properly wired, or a break in the stat wire. On a call for heat, you should have 24vac between W and C on the circuit board. This will let you know if you are getting a call for heat all the way back to the furnace.

Rheem gas furnace blower unit not working properly

look at circuit board and follow wires that come from fan motor, if this is a standard motor black is high and it will be going to a prong that says cool, red is low and it will go to heat, you will have a yellow and a blue that are "parked" remove red park it were the blue is and put blue on heat, if this is a variable speed motor you will have to set dip switches via your equipment manual

Blowing 3amp fuses

You have a low voltage short. A lot of low voltage shorts come from the wires that go out to the outdoor unit. Go outside and inspect those wires and that they are in good condition. Also check for any splices in those wires that they haven't degraded in any way. This is the only thing that will blow the fuse. That's why it's only 3 amps and based on the size of your fuse, it's a gas fired unit right? Have a great day!
