Hi, how did you know that the monitor is overheating? I am having some problem with the same model as well: it shuts off after about 3-4 mins of use, and then automatically comes back after around 7-8 mins, or if I power cycle with a few seconds gap. Wondering if this is same as your observation.

Speaker in/speaker out not working

Are you feeding the monitor via an HDMI connection? HDMI carries digital audio as well as digital video signals. If using DVI or VGA to connect it to your PC, there is no audio being fed to the monitor, so nothing can come out, unless you have a separate audio cable running to the monitor as well from the computer :o)

Monitor is on power save; how can we get it off

Will the monitor not come on at all? Its possbible you have some capacitors burned out on power board. This will cause it to go in to Power saving mode and stay.

I dont want to look at the No HDMI Cable Message after the computer shuts down. Is there a way to make the screen go blank more quickly. Or do I have to watch the message scroll across the screen for 10...

A couple of options. First and cheapest, you could turn off the monitor. Second, for about thirty to fifty dollars, you can pick up an energy saving surge protector. With this, it has a main plug, and switched plugs. The switched plugs cut power when the main item is turned off. I.E. PC turned off, monitor, speakers, printer all turn off a moment later.

The fan on my laptop is not working at all my computer keeps overheating and turns off

Probably your fan is full of dust. You have to disassemble your laptop and use an air blower to clean it. Or go to a local repair shop.
Fun not running means your cpu is overheating, and it automatically shuts down your laptop. You have to repair it as soon as you can, otherwise you risk frying it all.
