Pumps water in don't wash and pumps out again

Not sure whether a schematic will help unless you have some understanding of the location of the components. It would help if you are able to clarify what you mean by pumping in. Usually you should hear the water inlet valve turn on to let water in. Then the wash motor should run to churn the water around and then the drain pump should drain the water out. What is happening is the dishwasher is leaking water as soon as it fills. This causes the flood switch to turn on and that triggers the drain pump to empty the water. Usually Bosch dishwasher have an inline water leakage detector. Check under the sink where water inlet tap is located. There is a device connected through which the water get in. The hose is detecting leakage. Need actual model number of the dishwasher to investigate.

Trying to troubleshoot the circulation motor before I have to dismantle the dishwasher. It is built in and would be a MAJOR project to remove.

Go to Sears, parts, and many times they have the schematics there to pull up and print. This is one of the reasons I keep buying a portable...fixing is a pain when permanent!

This is a self cleaning dishwasher. This means the chopper inside the wash pump assembly crushes all the food waste and pushes it down the drain.
If you are having dirty dishes then the chopper is choked and needs cleaning.

You will have to open the dishwasher wash pump assembly to get there.
See this diagram for details. The chopper is item 6. I am assuming you have cleaned all the wash arms holes etc.

Where is the filter on model MDBD820AWW

The filter is under the lower washer arm. A diagram of the pump and motor assembly is available from Sears parts direct: . The filter is part 6 in the diagram. To get at the filter, you need to unscrew the center piece that holds the wash arm and then lift the arm out of the way. Next lift off the filter guard and then the filter assembly (there is another screw holding a cover on the filter itself). I believe the seal fits in the center of the filter assembly.

In my experience, you should note how tightly the lower wash arm is assembled. When you reassemble the unit, tighten to just that amount. (If you overtighten it, the wash arm will not turn and completely clean the dishes.)

I hope this helps.

Cindy Wells
(whose household had to replace the seal of a slightly different dishwasher and overtightened the assembly - three weeks waiting for the parts led to forgetting the key detail.)

I need a wiring diagram to troubleshoot a non-working Dishwasher (Maytag DWU9200) The cycle doesn't advance, and none of the loads function when the timer is advanced manually

I had the problem years ago on a Maytag DWU9200. The problem was that a tiny wire was broken on the motor that is running the timer and the timer was not working. I had to replace the complete timer assembly. I got an electrical schematic with the new timer.
This has now worked for 5 years...
Today the float for the float switch was stocked, preventing the water to fill the dishwasher during the cycle. I moved the float up and down several times and it works now.

I need to know how to put the pump assembly back

Go to the link provided below and under the heading "Browse Subcomponents" click on the "Pump and Motor Parts" link. I think that shows what you're looking for. Otherwise, check the other diagram links for your model on the same page.

Hope this helps!!retrieve.pd?modelNumber=6651514590&pop=flush

Loud Grating sound like gears stripping

There are a couple of possible problems that may be associated with your dishwasher.

1) Something got past the screen and is lodged in the pump.

2) I just fixed one that had the fan blade fall off of the motor and was rattling around on the shaft. This style motor has been updated and no longer has this problem.

You may need to replace the motor/pump assembly if it is damaged.

Spray arms not spraying and pump noise for Bosch SHY66C

Unless the motor and pump are an assembly permanently fastened as a unit, you probably need only replace the pump. Motors can be made really poor but will outlive the pump.
Since Bosch is a German brand, it may not be found on the Sears parts pages but it is worth a try. Just go to and click onward for parts.

I saw on another forum that these may leak if the assembler forgot to use teflon tape or silicone sealant where the pump assembly attaches. The repair is apparently not very difficult.
