the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

SOURCE: WHEN I RECORD A DVD.
Sometimes DVD players cannot read a DVD+R disc, only DVD-R can be played. (or vice versa) For example my old XBOX cannot play DVD+R, but it will read a DVD-R just fine.
So if you have finalized your disc and it still won't play on a certian player, try the other type of disc. (DVD+R or DVD-R)

I must first ask if you can hear it making some grinding or whining noises ?
The reason I ask is alot of times the gears that control the tray will start skipping over each other causing it to not move anymore. If you can hear it making funny noises when it is trying to open then that is likely your problem.
In such a case you have two options if your electronically and mechanically inclined you could pop the top of and watch the series of gears (they will be obvious) and it may be an easy fix just pushing a gear back into place ect.
Option two would be to bring it to a local repair shop (can be found in the yellow pages) and have them fix it for you if the price is worth it. Post back if you my solution doesn't fit your problem or you need further assistance.
Thank you for choosing Fixya!

Sure you can... connect a cable from the Output jacks of your DVD player and attach it to the Input jacks of your Magnavox the same way you connected the TV. You'll need to use your remote on the Magnavox to change the Input it records from so it conforms with where you plugged the cable into.
