How can I fix thermal shutdown of Acer b1-730?

Could be the CPU needs new thermal paste and reseating.this is usually a fail safe designed to protect the computer when the CPU is getting too hot.also check the cooling fan ......blocked vents as this may also cause overheating issues thus not cooling the internals which will activate thermal shutdown.

The Optical does not on its own have a "Thermal block" some Sony sets do have a thermal fuse connected to the Lamp---on most (What is model number?) that will result in shutdown and a 3 blink error code on the front of the TV.

My Hedge trimmer will start and run for 2 or 3 minutes, then it dies and will not start again until the next day. Any ideas what is wrong?

Withou make and model it's tough to be accurate so I'll need to make a presumption that it's electric.

First clean the blades thoroughly then spray them liberally with a light oil like WD40

It sounds like the blades are binding and causing a thermal shutdown of the motor. Allowing it to sit over night resets the thermal circuit breaker

Thermal protection override. My motherboard went into thermal protection override and will not post. I have cleaned it and now how do I reset it?

tyou should find you rmanual and find the reset button or jumper. You must also try to find out what went wrong first why it went on thermal shutdown. You have to resolve the problem first. It could still be there that's why it wont post. If you know how to changes all your cmos.bios settings then if you can not find the reset jumper or switch you can actually reset your cmos to default factory setting. be careful though because you haver to know all your settings, the dates as well for your software activation. i suggest that you remove first the connection of your hardisk until you get your board running then put it back. do not boot your hard disk with the wrong date in your cmos. it will corropt your softwares specially virus protection

Dell laptop won't boot

yes they do have thermal protection and if you leave it sit it should come back on if the fan doesn't move then it's just going to do it again till it's replaced.
