If the non-trivial C++ code is ISO conformant, you should try to install
the STLport-4.x C++ library. Just drag in the header files before the
ones that come with g++ using the -I switch.
If the code is too non-trivial you may encounter link problems with
stlport, for simpler programs I remember this combination working.
As I recall the link problems are claimed to indicate a problem in the True64
linker (True64 4.0) (my memory is weak here). I think there is
something pertinent in the docs coming with stlport or gcc.

I gave up at that point (waiting for gcc-3),
since cxx and its library are quite close to the standard.
