Most of the hand wheels have a hole on the side which you use a flat screwdriver or hex wrench to remove with.

SOURCE: Need to replace a bobbin cover plate

Hi,

Here in Australia, the dealer would get it in for you. The 'manufacturer' / distributor usually don't get involved with customers! I'd find a dealer near you and ask!

Good luck!

SOURCE: machine locked up and makes a beeping sound

There may be thread caught in the bobbin area.

Turn off the power and check the manual for maintenance.

Once the area is clean and the bobbin case back in place, turn the machine back on.

If this does not resolve the issue, the machine will need an authorized sewing machine tech to repair it.

It needs a good cleaning of lint, thread etc. take your bobbin case out and make sure that there is nothing in there. DO NOT TURN YOUR HAND WHEEL BACKWARDS! It will mess up your timing. If you cannot free it up take it for service

My bobbin winder on my singer 9015 won't wind the bobbin its trying but won't turn

Remove the top lid.
The bobbin winder on the back has a tire on it that rubs against the hand wheel. Replace the tire if it is worn . Check the spring pressure that causes the tire to stay against the hand wheel. It has to be a good spring. If it is week replace it.

Singer CG500 Needle hits the needle plate. Needle was replaced. Verified needle in correctly. Tried hand wheel - still hits. Machine has yet to be used!!

Unless you need all the bells and whistles to sew get you a pre-1930 treadle or handcrank. I have 2 electric Singers, 1947 model 66 and 1948 201-2 both with attachments. Also I have 1903 Singer handcrank made in Scotland. The plastic new one just don't have the ability to hang in there .... All my pre 1930 Singers sew... I love them!

Singer 328 is not stiching

if upper thread correct, check bobbin is wound and inserted correctly. Pulling bobbin thread, the bobbin should turn counter clockwise. make sure thread is under bobbin case tension spring. With cover plate open hold needle thread and turn hand wheel towards you to see if hook picks up needle thread and passes it around bobbin case. if not check hook timing

Singer 2263 instruction manual does not show where to lubricate or how to adjust the hook which keep jamming

First make sure that the needle is fully up. Then you need to open the hinged front cover and unscrew the needle plate screws. Remove the bobbin. Brush out any lint now. Remove the bobbin case. Then snap the hook retaining arms outwards. Remove the hook cover and hook. Put no more than 2 drops of sewing machine oil on the the case (center right hand side). Then turn the hand wheel until the hook race is in the left position. Replace the hook and then the hook cover. Snap the hook retaining arms back into position. Replace the bobbin case and bobbin. Then replace the stitch plate.

Test the machine on a piece of waste fabric. If the hook keeps jamming, take the machine in for maintenance. The parts that may need to be replaced are the race or the shuttle hook. However without seeing the unit I do not know if there is not another problem. Some parts for the 2263 are available here: http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/singer-2263-sewing-machine-parts.aspx .

Singer has a second manual available with the oiling instructions for the 2263 here: http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/1213_oiling-2263.pdf . See the diagrams on this page for where things line up. The rest of the instruction manual is also online here: http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/1180_2263%28eng_spa_fre%29.pdf .

I hope this helps.

Do I need to remove both metal plates from the bottom in order to thread the bobbin???

No, you should only have to turn the hand wheel towards you and you will see that the thread will hook on the bobbin thread if you have your cover off.
