Question about Brother Sewing Machines

Open Question

My pr650e when cutting thread after finishing the colour the upper thread hook doesn't pull the thread into the magic tape.

My machine is a Brother Pr 650e 6 needle head. so when the machine comes back to use that needle and colour thread when the needle goes down into the fabric the make the first stitch the thread comes out of the eye of the needle, so the I have to re-thread. It does this on all 6 needles? Can you help?

SOURCE: Machine not sewing

Make sure you have threaded the machine from right to left, it sounds like the needle thread is trapped under the lower looper thread and cannot form a stitch.........start the threading over from scratch like this:

  1. Lower Looper
  2. Upper Looper
  3. Left Needle
  4. Right Needle
Is there a diagram for how to thread on the inside of the door ?

Follow that slowly and carefully to make sure you have not missed any thread guides on the way, as each one needs to be followed through to ensure correct tension and thread progression.

If you are certain that all threaded correctly, did you have a fabric jam and pulled it loose ? If so, the timing may well be affected.

Post an update and we'll get this right.

SOURCE: Stitch is uneven, not straight, and tension off on top and bottom

on my industrial machine this was caused by the wrong size needle. the length was off just a fraction. just an idea, in case you bought generic needles or something.

SOURCE: Thread Breaking On Brother Sewing Machine

if thread is good quality you may have a sharp groove in your needle plate hole from needle breakage. if so, polish with emery tape.

How to thread a brother xl 2230

Do you need the directions for threading the upper thread or the bobbin? For the top thread, place the spool on the pin (pull it up if needed). Then raise the presser foot with the lever and the needle (with the balance wheel on the side) to their highest point. Now work from the right to the left. Hook the thread on the rear thread guide and bring the thread forward and down to the front thread guide. Bring the thread up and pass it through the Take-Up lever. Bring the thread up and back down so that it falls into the slot. Bring the thread down and pull it behind the guide above the needle. Then thread the needle from front to back. If you have put in the filled bobbin, hold onto the thread and use the balance wheel to bring the needle down and back up. Use the upper thread to pull up the bobbin thread and pull several inches of the thread to the back of the machine.

Brother has the manuals and quick set-up guide on the product support page: http://www.brother-usa.com/support/ModelInfo.aspx?R3ModelID=XL2230#.VRHrpaSFr3g . The quick setup guide, http://www.brother-usa.com/VirData/Content/en-US%5CHAD%5CConsumer%5CQuickSetupGuide%5CQSG_XL_2230_EN_3166.pdf , has very good pictures of threading the machine.

I hope this helps.

My pr 600 freezes

You might have Thread particles build up. Puchase canned Air for electronis and use it on a regular basic to clean your bobbin case area. Also when you change threads color always clip your thread near the spool and pull your thread out from the bottom near your needle. When you pull your thread through the top little pieces of the thread break of and fall into the chamber of your embroidery machine .

I think timing is correct because hook catches thread every time, but when the hook finishes its rotation and releases the thread, the thread loop doesnt make it all the way around the bobbin case......it...

the catcher/hook on the bobbin case system loosen or not fix properly probably becoz of vibration or something( check or replace new), then check upper system either tension/ tighten of your thread/yarn or correct..

The upper thread will not pick up bobbin thread

Make sure the needles are the correct size, fully inserted into the needle bar and oriented correctly for your machine. If that doesn't work check the timing. The hook should arrive at the needle scarf when the needle is at the lowest point in it's travel. If it doesn't... go have it timed by a pro.

Bernina Deco 650 Check if upper or lower thread is cut shows on

turn machine off and on to see if message clears... not sure for that machine ( I work with Brother products) but if it has a wiper (small hook shaped blade) that trims the tread automatically it may be stuck in the extended position

Brother Sewing Machine model:CS8150 bobbin thread problems

The top of the machine is not threaded correctly. First raise the presserfot then rethread the machine. Bottom looping is usually caused by a lack of top tension. There could allso be a bur on the hook.

Upper Thread Error

I just posted this under another Brother machine...mine is a se 350 but, might be the same problem!! Hi....I also kept getting the check and rethread upper thread message, I'd sew about 15 stitches and it'd stop. Here's what I did. On the left of the machine, in the back there is a screw....loosen that screw, take cover off, then lift straigt up and out on the cover that has the 3 on it in your threading seqence. Next, I started inspecting and cleaning the thread route from top to bottom. Lo and behold....I get to the place where you come down the front of the machine and turn to go back up and I spot a little slice/cut in the plastic piece so, when I was threading the machine I guess I was pulling it to far to the left causing it to wear a little slice/cut in that piece....so, I finished cutting it off with a utility knife, used an emery board to smooth it down, put the covers back on and it works GREAT!!!! Who would've ever thought that it'd be so easy and save me a bunch of money!!! I sure hope this helps someone.
