How do I adjust the height of my whirlpool ingregrated dishwasher

Usually on the two front feet are adjustable. To set the back feet just pull the machine towards you temporarily raising the back of the unit off the floor, this will make sure the rear feet drop down fully. Then set the back down again and adjust the 2 front feet to level.it.

The feet are usually adjusted by turning them left or right to adjust their height.

if they are threaded then there may be a lock nut to loosen off before you can turn them

How do you level a kelvinator refrigerator

Most refrigerators have adjustable feet, both front and back. Some you'll need a couple of wrenches. There may be a locknut that holds the adjustable 'foot' in place: loosen that first, then take the weight off the front of the refrigerator, either by having someone push on it, or by using a large prybar. Adjust the foot down by unscrewing it a few turns. Repeat for the other front foot. Once you've got the feet adjusted where you want them (so that the refrigerator isn't leaning, and also is supported solidly on the floor) tighten the locknuts on the feet. If your floor is too far out of level, you might have to pull the refrigerator out and and adjust the rear feet in (if it has them). Worst case, you may need to get a / some thin pieces of plywood to shim up the front (only as a last resort).

On new maytag dishwashers what is the range of height adjustment? They are all listed at 34 1/2" high but there must be some adjustment plus or minus!

Hi, W/D here.

They all have adjustable feet that can adjust the height up by about 2", or so. Check your manual.
The rear feet have a linkage to the front of the machine.

Best regards, --W/D--

My Kenmore Heavy Duty 70 washer is out of balance and bangs like crazy during the spin cycle. What can I do to repair it myself

If this is a Whirlpool manufactured top loader (such as your Kenmore), it could simply be off level. The rear feet on these washer have an auto-leveling mechanism that you can easily reset yourself. Just follow these steps:

1. With the wash tub empty, open the washer lid and grasp the rim of the tub opening (do not grab the tub).

2. Now place one of your feet at the base of the washer along the front of the washer to keep it from moving.

3. Now pull the washer towards you so the rear feet lift off the floor. You should hear a clicking sound as the rear feet auto-level.

4. Carefully set the washer back down (do not slam it) and the rear of the washer should now be level.

Using a level, check the washer front to back and side to side to make sure it is level in all directions.

If you need to adjust the washer washer front feet, carefully lift the front of the washer and turn the feet to either adjust them up or down. The slightest difference can cause excessive vibration on the final spin. Check by placing your hands at opposite corners on top of the washer (diagonally - one on the rear, one on the front) and try rocking the washer to see if it moves. If the washer wobbles, you need to readjust.

If you still have problems after checking the level of the washer, please post back and let me know. The problem could also be related to balance spring issues. I hope this helps you.

During the rinse cycle, my washing machines shakes violently from side to side (It just started doing this a couple weeks ago). Is it off track, and is this issue self-repairable?

I suspect that auto-leveling the rear feet will take care of the problem, since this just recently started happening. This needs to checked from time to time.

If you still have problems after checking the level of the washer, please post back and let me know. The problem could also be related to a balance spring issues. I hope this helps you.

My comercial washer does not stay level when spinnig, seems like the self leveling device is not staying put ,i can lift it up to level it but it still wants to dance around.

YOUR REAR LEVELING MECHANISM IS SELF LEVELING FROM SIDE TO SIDE YOUR FRONT FEET ARE INDIVIDUAL MAKE SURE THE REAR OPERATES PROPERLY AND RELEVEL THE MACHINE IN BOTH DIRCTIONS. EACH TIME YOU MAKE AN ADJUSTMENT TO THE FRONT FEET WETHER IT BE THE RIGHT OR THE LEFT RE-RAISE THE REAR SO THAT THE REAR ADJUSTMENT WILL AUTOMATICALLY SET ITSELF TO WHAT YOU HAVE CHANGED ON THE FRONT FEET. YOU MAY HAVE TO DO THIS REPEATEDLY TO GET THE BEST POSSIBLE LEVELNESS IN BOTH DIRECTIONS. ONCE YOU ARE SATISFIED THE FRONT FEET SHOULD HAVE A SET NUT RUN THIS NUT UP TIGHT TO THE BASE OF THE WASHER.

Top loading washer dances all over the place- have leveled it to

I presume this is a topload machine. Depending on model there are a couple of different foot designs, one has four independent feet - are all four feet firmly planted? Many models have rear feet that 'self adjust'. When the machine is tilted forward, the rear feet adjust so that all four feet are firmly planted. If this is not the problem, then there are some questions: If you open the lid, is the basket centered? If not, you may want to intentionally 'unlevel' the machine so that the basket is better centered. Is there anything slippery such as fabric softener under the feet? What type of floor is it sitting on? Floating smooth floors (those laid on a substrate layer) are the worst. Try cleaning both the floor and the bottoms of the feet. Putting double sticky tape under the feet might help. Does it walk every time? The water in the balance ring(s) might be missing because of a 'rub' causing a hole in the balance ring. Are you washing 'lumpy' items (picture a bowling ball ;-) ) if so, you might consider additing additional items to better distrubute the load.
