How to change baterry o schlage be365

To change the battery on the BE365, you need to remove the inside cover by removing the two screws (one above and one below the deadbolt knob). Be careful to tuck the wires inside the lock so that they will not be crimped when you put the cover back on.

Do you here a beep and see a flashing light? Usually if pressing the Schlage button unlocks the deadbolt, your installation was done improperly. The cam on the base plate must be vertical and the bolt must be correctly installed.

You will always be able to lock and unlock the deadbolt with the inside thumb knob.

I hope this helps.

How to tighten up a loose face plate of a Kwikset Deadbolt door lock. This specific deadbolt lock doesn't have screws on either side. The face plate is so loose that I can spin it clockwise but it never...

The exterior faceplate is not the thing that fastens to the door, it just supports the lock cylinder and covers the hole in the wood. Inside the door the cylinder has a thin plate with two screws going from the inner door surface into the back of the part you put the key into. Removing the big nightlatch block you will see a metal tang on the inside sticking out. The two screws will be just to the left and right of the tang and so you can draw the lock cylinder inward from there, which will squeeze the outside faceplate bezel into the front door surface. These are great locks, I am installing one from the 1940's which even opens up to let you reverse the bolt angle and make the door open outwards if you want to for big industrial shop doors.

Weiser powerbolt worked well for several months but now is not reliable anymore. Changing batteries did not help. It sounds like it is locking but sometimes fails to lock...we cannot trust it anymore

Hi... You have too be sure that the deadbolt is free when it go inside the deadbolt hole... however this system is very low power and the (over torque clutch) will sleep if the deadbolt it's not completely free.
Also if you try to open the door before you unlock it, you may block the the deadbolt inside the deadbolt hole. Take care too unlock the door before open-it...

Schlage deadbolt will not unlock even with the use of a key?

it sounds as though the linkage that pulls the deadbolt back has disengaged... if you undo the screws from the inside of the door and remove the manual knob there will be 2 more screws holding the key lock to the door. A thin flat bar is attached to the key lock that goes through the deadbolt and into the manual knob. This bar turns with the key, sliding the bolt on its track to lock and unlock the door. Once the lock is apart check the key in the lock to see if the bar turns when the key does. then see if there is anything that may be obstructing the deadbolt from sliding. The locks are pretty indestructible so if there is a problem it may have been from the install... perhaps the door is to wide for the lock to engage properly and the lock worked loose in the 6 months that it worked.

Deadbolt wont unlock

Remove the deadbolt cover by removing the 2 screws. This will get you inside the deadbolt. Try using a screwdriver to pull it back. You may in the end have to break the unit in order to get it out and replace it. I have the same thing happen with a deadbolt. I ended up having to destroy the unit to get it out. You are going to replace it anyway so do whatever it takes to get it to unlock so you can then remove it from the door and install a new one. You do not want a deadbolt that will not unlock.

Carbine 4011 deadbolt removal

First, you will need a good quality Phillips Type Screwdriver, and possibly a flat-blade screwdriver, also. Both should be Medium-to-large to fit the lock screws properly. A Cordless Electric Screwdriver is OK, also. With the door open, remove the two screws holding the bolt assembly to the narrow part of the door. Do not attempt to remove the bolt at this time. Next, on the INSIDE part of the door, look on the lock cylinder for two screws. Before removing the screws, use masking tape to hold both sides of the lock to the door. The tape will keep the cylinders from falling off the door during disassembly. Now, remove the screws from the cylinder, and carefully pull the inside and outside cylinders off of the door. Sometimes there are two additional screws inside the lock that must be removed. Wiggle or rotate the cylinders slightly, and they should come right off the door. With the cylinders removed, the bolt assembly can now be slid out from the side of the door. Put all the lock parts, including keys, in a container so nothing gets lost.
