We have a slit in the silicone red rollers on the GBC Ultima 65 Laminator. Can we still use it or do the rollers need to be replaced before use?

You may have some issues with the film bonding where the slits touch it. The heat rollers are rather expensive(approx. 300.00 each) , so you make the call. Do not try to cut any jammed film off of the rollers with a sharp object. Also, don't try to peel off film that is stuck to the rollers. Let the laminator warm up a little to melt the glue on the film. It should be easy to pull the film off then. If you try to pull it off cold it will remove chunks of the roller, which will cause pitting and poor adhesion.

How do I unjam it?

first, remove both rollers with the film on them, then I usually cut the film between the red/orange rollers and the rear gray rollers, this allows you to run the laminator in either forward or reverse to unwrap the laminator, there is not exact science here, just use common sense and don't use anything sharp up against the rollers. Does the GBC Ultima 65 have an adjustable pot to increase heat of rollers? If so, where is it located?

Ordinarily, laminators have speed controls to allow the laminated substrate to get hotter.

Top roller of GBC ultima 65 not heating

either the top heater tube, (inside the orange/red roller) is burned out (Open) or the wire on either side of the heater tube is burned or broken in half. It\'s not as bad as you might think.

Laminate did not come out it just went back inside on roller

warm the machine back up, get the glue sticky again, then work it off, either by going in forward or reverse, whichever works best for the given situation. Don't use anything sharp as the rollers damage easily....very expensive

Could have a bad heat lamp, do your adhesive feel tacky on any of the rollers? Are you may have a bad triac

Laminator squeals

The paper is fed into the laminator by rollers usually a top and bottom, one of them is usually made of silicone(rubber) check to see if tose rollers are turning, you may have to pull some covers off to see the rollers, but usually you can look in the throat where the paper is fed in and see these rollers with a flashlite. Not sure of the brand, big or small laminator, good luck. If rollers are not turning, some are belt driven, some are motor driven, could even be a control board or switch.

Paper rolled on heater roller. How do I remove?

I fix roll laminators for a living. Its best with GBC machines to remove wraps where the film is stuck to the roller hot. trying to remove ilm adhered to the roller cold can not jusst remove the film but the rubber roller surface. Do note GBC heat rollers espically the red ones are over 500 bucks each:( Its easy to damage those rollers making the machine junk....

My ultima 65 laminator is not sealing well on the left side. I've tried adjusting the upper tension which helps temporarily, but it reloosens after just a few minutes of use.

By "upper tension" do you mean the hex screw located inside the left panel? If you tighten this until there is no space between the heat rollers it should eleminate the problem. If it is continues to loosen, back the screw out, apply a small amount of locktight to the threads before replacing the screw. You can find locktight at any hardware store usually in the Paint section near the glues. Hope this helps. Good luck
