It sounds like the thermal fuse or heating element are defective. Both components are easily checked with an ohm meter or multimeter. The fuse is usually inside the back of the dryer by the exhaust duct. Both components should have continuity, if not they need to be replaced. Sure hope this helped.

Which wire do i test to see if my kitchenaid dryer motor is getting power

Hello,

You may have to run a cycle or 'set' the dryer (dial=ready) as these wires are not continuously 'hot'. Although there are usually a white, black(or red) and ground wire. Black or red is 'hot" white is "neutral' .
I hope this helps

I replaced the thermal fuse because there was no heat. Now the dryer over heats and shuts off. Everything checks ok on ohm meter. The timer works in the "no heat" mode. Could it be the timer...

after you changed the thermal fuse did you clean out the dryer and the vent line?if not you blew the fuse again and it will keep doing this until you clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into, vac and blow out the motor and the cabinet where the motor is and blow out the vent line,if it's a long run remove the vent line from the back of the dryer and blow it out with a leaf blower.the dryer went over 300 degrees from lint buildup and popped the thermal fuse,it's a safety so the dryer doesn't run hot and start a fire.if the dryer is running and sfter like 20 minutes it shuts down and won't start for a while until it cools down then the motor is bad also probably from the dryer running to hot from the lint build up.

The dryer is turning, but it isnt getting hot. I put a new cord on it!

Is this dryer electric or gas heated...if electric...did you wire it properly...electric dryers use 220 VAC and have a very large plug on them...usually there is a black, red. white, and green wire...the white is neutral, the green is ground and the red, black are the L1 and L2 hot leads...these need to be wired to the 2 hot terminals in order for the dryer to function properly

Dryer will not get hot,but everything else works

Hi. Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer or on the actual heater chamber or blower housing. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.

Note: It is recommended by most dryer manufacturers to replace a hi-limit thermostat when replacing a thermal fuse.

Frigidaire Gas Dryer not heating up. Other elements are all ok.

It sounds like your igniter is no good. At all costs, check the Fuse before anything else. It is usually accessed from the back of the unit.
