What type of CB are you using. FCC limits CB outputs to 4 watts AM and 12 Watts SSB. You must be trying to tune up a liner amp. Need more information

if you are looking for 40 channel CB than i would look under ham radio operators, CB repair shops, if you are looking for another one, you may even look up on www.ebay.com
the ham radio operators would be where i would look and talk to.
i would look for ham radio clubs, they have swap meets all the time, old tv and radio repair shop. i have been in ham radio operations in 20 yrs and i do not know anyone. you may check out the local library., the FCC may be help you find local ham radio operator in your location. they will help you find that old equipment, than on the other side of the coin what are you willing to pay to locate an operate one is and are they willing to part with it.

good luck rod

I have a vhf 25 W radio set . Rx is ok but no Tx .my ptt is ok then whats the problem

A lot more information is needed to get started on helping your resolve your problem. First, you have not provided any information about your radio (make and model at least). You said that your PTT is ok, but no transmit. The PTT is just a switch to switch between RX and TX.

Have you tested the output with a watt meter into a dummy load? What other tests have you performed, when did the problem start, and what was being done prior to the start of the problem.

Have you talked to any local ham radio operators about this problem and asked for their assistance?

While looking up local listing will take a little leg work, These links below will give you some great starting points.
Just remember, agencies will change frequencies, Hardware, and radio types from analog, to digital, to trunked.
Also web sites may not have most up to date listings, Id also suggest local amateur radio aka Ham radio clubs. some of the guys there may be able to help you out as well.
Best of luck and SCAN ON! :) Enjoy

How do i hook up a ldg200 pro antenna tuner to a mfj 1700c 6 position antenna switch and also a mfj -267 dummy load wattmeter to the same switch

watt meter between your radio and switch then after switch comes your ldg200. Do intend on running 6 antennas off that switch because if you are you just might need 6 tuners. In any case the tuner should go as close to the antenna as possible.

How do i turn the watts up on a cobra 40x

L306 is the location.
You will need a pep reading watt meter and a dummy load.

This being a older unit and stored not powered up regularly it most likely will have dry or leaking capacitors. This unit could be a really headache and you may detune it if you just get in there turning screws. Now that you have been warned good luck and have fun.

I have a super star ss148egk built on cobra chasis and cant get any modulation swing. ON am dead key 4 watts no more and would like to be able to get out a little better.

Hi rcstss, I would search youtube for that radio, in searching include the word "Mods", if you feel comfortable opening up the case, make sure you have the proper tools handy. Such as a set of "Plastic Tuneing Tools, also a Watt Meter with SWR, and Modulation on it. Also, a Dummy load for the freguencies that it will cover! You would not like to interfere with your freinds. There are a LOT of Mods for that radio.! Or try and find some shop that you can TRUST! It really sounds like a simple problem to fix, but I'm an Old Ham, and it just second nature to me. And I have more equipment than I really have room for! Good Luck, I bet you will find the answer on youtube though! 73, Collin..

Hey guys i have a galaxy 44v, i had two radio checks, on guy said it sounded like i had a pin on my nose and one said i was a little distorted, so what is going on the radio, is dead keying 0.5 watt and...

That radio is clipped and producing as much audio it can and in the process it is also a big splatter box. If you produce 4 watt of carrier and swing 6-7 it will be kinder one everyone ears around you.In other words make sure tr 32 is intact, r49 is not clipped and the amc is not turned wide open.should be marked am mod.I am a Ham Radio Operator that has 15 years of motorola experience. Hope this helps.

If he has a REAL watt meter not one of these FAKE reading meters it is doing all it is capable of doing. One question is he checking it on the same antenna or a dummy load and is he using the same watt meter he used years ago? these are all honest issues. Seek out a local Ham operator see if he has a good watt meter or go to your local Motorola Radio Shop see if they have a Bird Watt meter if that radio reads as indicated on the bird or similar watt meter there is nothing wrong with the radio to start with.
