SOURCE: ROLEX QUICK-SET FEATURE

1) un-screw the pin by turning it towards you, until the spring pops it out. 2) pull the pin out to the next notch 3) turn the pin towards you and watch the date change (if the minute hand is moving when you turn the pin, you pulled out too far).

SOURCE: WATCH

Press MODE 5 times until you see H-SET on the right side of the dial in the box. Then press the ADJUST button. You will now notice the current TIME you have already set on your watch will appear in the box and flash where H-SET was. This will help you know what time to set the hands on. While holding down the FORWARD button you will see the hand start to move. I could not move mine in reverse, only forward. Simply set the time and you are finished.

SOURCE: watch second hand

I had the same problem with my Tag. Same 4 second jump. It's definitely the battery. I'm surprised at only 3 months, but maybe it sat a while in the display case. Mine was over a year and a half.

SOURCE: My watch no longer functions even after winding.

I have found that some of these "automatic" Fossils also contain a battery. That is how that provide an automatic watch at such a cheap price. I recommend taking it to a jeweler to have them check this. If it needs repair it will likely cost near the watche's replacement value.

SOURCE: The second hand of my Tissot watch T870/970 starts and stops.

Hello!
Absolutely astonished by this "solution" from escapement.
This watch is working perfectly - it is simply giving its "end of battery life warning".

Which way is clockwise as you hold it in your hand and one time that i set it it went around by it self another times i had to wind manually

Clockwise is the way you read the numbers 12,1,2,3,4,5, etc. the way the hands move. If there s a digital display that is supposed to match the hands, Set it first then find the menu setting for hands

How do I set my pod 535 watch after I have changed the batteries

Just tried this procedure to replace a watch battery in a POD 535 and did not work...my version of the watch might be different, all I am saying is it did not work with my watch.
The procedure that worked with my watch
When you have replaced the battery reset the watch by placing a small screw driver across the two recessed contact next to the lower battery clip. The digital display will reset and you will see four zero's flashing...if not press the winder button once, or reset the watch again. This process is to get all the hands at twelve O clock position...press and hold the top right hand button and the hands will start revolving...you can let go of the button once the hand are moving. Pressing the top button again will stop the hands and a short press will move the hands in small increments. Once the hands get close to 12 press then press the button once and then press the same button in short pulses to align all the hands on the 12 position. Wait a short time and the watch will find the time signal and both the digital display and hands will be aligned and showing the correct time.

The hands are not moving. Do you manually wind cross watches? Does it work from a battery?

Push the crown in, flush with case and turn it anti-clock wise. If you do not hear any clicking sound whilst doing that - your watch is battery driven. If you hear clicking sound - your watch is spring driven (mechanical).

How do you get started to wind a BMW watch. There is no resistance when I wind the crown. There does nt seem to be any plastic or anything in the way. I ve set the date successfully. Its a BMW Chrono...

mcdevito75 here, BMW watch, nice watch, Actually there are 2 ways to start winding an automatic or self wind watch. Since you feel no resistance in the winder (crown) which if you did, would mean the automatic mechanism is attached by gear to the mainspring and winding the crown (stem) would start the winding process. Without any resistance winding the crown, your automatic mechanism is free-lance as a way of saying, in your watch which simply means your BMW watch winds solely on wrist / arm motion. First, make sure you hear the automatic mechanism moveing inside the watch when you move the watch in almost any direction, now simply hold the watch in your hand and with a rocking motion, say from 12--to 6 rock your hand back and forth for about 30 seconds. You can also make circular motions with the watch in your hand for 30 seconds, any motion that will cause the automatic movement in your watch to move will, start the winding process. After you see you watch has started, simply wear your watch to keep it wound.

I have a watch that is supposed to wind itself by the movement of my wrist rocking around the wheel and it has stopped.

How old is the watch? If its an older automatic watch it might need to be cleaned! There are 2 types of auto wind watches. Springs or capacitor! If its a spring then take the watch off of your wrist and while holding it in your hand gently rock it back and forth. You should feel the weight moving around inside. If its a capacitor and doesnt start to run after you gently rock it in your hand then you need to take it to a watch repair business and see if they can replace the capacitor!

Good luck!

I can't get my head around how to manually wind my Fossil ME1020

You are not supposed to wind the watch, in simply winds itself with the motion of your wrist. A weighted wheel located in the back of the watch winds a spring that powers the second hand. The minute and hour is power by quartz and a battery.

Red hand for dual timezone

If your watch has mechanical- self winding movement, then ALL the gears, hands and functions are mechanically driven and executed. None of the hands can be winded, as the movement of the hands is the consequence of the releasing power of the winded mainspring. All hands (including dual time zone hand) can be udjusted only to the required time and the rest is done automatically by the gears, cogs and levers.
If the dual time zone hand is not functioning properly- there is some mechanical fault and you will have to get the watchmakers help to sort it out.

Invicta Speedway 9223 not keeping time

It sounds to me as it is a quartz chronograph and it is right that the centre seconds hand moves only if the pushbutton is pressed. If you look close enough, you will notice that the small subdial finger is ticking and counting seconds. It is recommended to replace battery, as sometimes watches been laying in stores for a few years before selling and the battery is flat or underpowered.
Want to know more about your watch? Go to www.invictawatches.com and find out.
