Be sure to use a brand new needle because a bent needle could miss the bobbin thread.

Search the internet for sites and videos relating to sewing machine timing or take it for service.

Needle holder will not move up & down needle, machine is seized.

I would check for thread wrapped around the bobbin holder again. If it is a recurring problem, then there is another problem causing it. Take it back to your servicer and ask them to look deeper for the real issue.

Needle cant grab thread in bobbin

Make sure you get a new needle, put it in RIGHT. usually flat side to back. Make sure your bobbin is turning in the case CLOCKWISE
Usually it is a bent needle, or it is in wrong. Also, make sure your thread in going through the eye of the needle, and not twisted around the needle.

Needle Jams In Bobbin Case Area pfaff 1540

First, make sure there is no debris and scraps of thread in the bobbin area. I'm sure you did that already. I assume you also tried it with another thread just to be sure. I would suspect that the timing went out of whack. The machines depend on a synchronization between the needle motion and the bobbin action underneath. I once had a Singer that slipped and I had to reset the timing. If it is the timing synch problem then it would happen consistently and not work sometimes and then not work other times. G

Pfaff select 1540 bobbin thread jam

if there is a thread in the hook area try taking a pair of needle nose
pliers to try & get the thread out, if that doesn't work then you might
think about taking the machine to a sewing machine shop to have the
machine checked since the needle will not go up & down & handwheel
won't move

I have lost my manual and can't remember how to thread the Tiptronic 2040

Make sure you have your spool of thread pushed all the way back on the spool pin with the proper size thread cap. Make sure your foot is in the up position, as this opens the tension discs. There is a small metal circle on top. Pull the thread behind it and under it and directly down. Come back up the other side and around the take-up lever. If you cannot see the take-up lever, move your handwheel until it is all the way up. After you have threaded it around the take-up lever, it comes back down this same side. On either side of your needle bar are two small metal clips. It doesn't matter which side you put the thread into. To put it into the clip, hold the thread taunt and pull it from the outside in against the clip. Now put your foot in the down position. When you pull the thread, it should be tight. Push your needle threader all of the way down. It has a tiny (extremely tiny) hook that will come through the eye of the needle. Wrap the thread around the metal bar/hook on it and gently bring it in front of the needle but under the metal guides that are in front of the needle eye. This next part takes some coordination, gently realease the thread as you simultaneously release the threader. It should pull a loop of thread through the back of the needle.
Also, when you wind a bobbin, you must thread it through the top of the metal disc on top and not underneath it. This provides the correct amount of tension for bobbin winding.
If you are not sure if you have threaded correctly, with the foot in the up position, pull on your thread. It will pull freely off the bobbin. With the foot down you should have a lot of resistance. Good luck to you!

Frozen Sewing Machine Arm/Pfaff Tiptronic 6270

Good morning,

A question to help determine what's happening with your machine(s).

Open the bobbin case so you can see the bobbin area. Begin by trying to turn the handwheel towards you and watch as the needle attempts to go up/down. If you cannot turn the handwheel towards you, turn it slightly backwards then forwards. Does the needle hit the bobbin case as it comes down?

If yes, your machine is out of time and will require a professional technician to repair.

If the above is not the case, there may be thread jammed behind the bobbin case or wrapped around the inner parts of the take-up lever.

Either case - a Pfaff authorized technician would be your best bet for a proper repair.

Best of luck with your machines - it's just awful to not have the at the ready for all our projects!

Happy sewing,
Kim & Linnette

Brother sewing machine cs6000i. Less than one year. The upper thread wraps around the bobbin caseing and jams.

check you tension on the top thread and see if you have it threaded the right way. Also see if the indent of your needle "the indent down by the hole on the needle" is facing the hook by your bobbin case that grabs the thread when it comes around.
