Question about Sony MHC-GX450 CD Shelf System
I have the stereo receiver but not the original subwoofer it came with SS-WG450. There is a rca connector and a 2 pin 'control' cable that appears to power LED's on the original sub and tell the receiver unit to turn its amp on. How do I bypass this control cable so I can use any other sub???
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

If this is a house unit, it'll take 110V AC to power it up, then there is a voltage regulator after that that drops the voltage, so the electronics don't burnout.

Is the LED on the front of the subwoofer unit glowing?
If not then check that (a) the plugs are correctly inserted in the two sockets on the back of the the mhc-gx450, and (b) check that the subwoofer is activated on the mhc-gx450 unit.
