The problem is more than likely with the timer located beneath the panel in the door. Lower the door to the horizontal position and remove the short Philips screws holding the inside panel in place. There will be a multi-contact electrical fitting that is connected to the timer. The small contacts within that fitting have more than likely oxidized and are acting as a resistor to current flow.
Simply pull the plastic harness off of the timer and then plug it back in. You may want to unplug and re-plug it several times to promote better cleaning. Reassemble the inner panel and start the washer. If that does not work a replacement timer may be needed.
Anyone got an answer to this, as I have exactly the same fault.
Dishwasher appears to switch on OK, then after a short time (20 secs?) the pump noise stops and the green light flashes - it seems to e a sequence of 7 flashes, then stop... 7 flashed then stop.
The sequence could indicate a fault detected?
Anyone know anything about these units from IKEA, made by Whirlpool?
Hello, Found this while looking for the answer myself. The vanity door fell off last night onto my foot and so needs must as it really hurt!
Anyway there are 2 top pillars that fit into the upper appliance door. Then there are two plates that need to set to finished height.
To fit. First insert the top pillars into the large openings. Now open the dishwasher door a bit, took two of us to get this right, and push the vanity door as high up as you can. Next slide the door back down and gently push the bottom plates into the recesses on the appliance door.
Job done! Well almost. When you have got this far open the dishwasher door completely. You will see a plastic white cover caps on either side of the door. Remove these and drop a screw into the hole.. Make sure you measure the screw against the vanity door so that the screw does not go all the way through!! Now screw the appliance door to the vanity door.. Now the job is now complete!
Although it is a different model than yours, here is the link to the installation manual for an Electrolux DW and it is likely similar. The custom panel instructions begin on page 22 and show templates and how to remove and reinstall the factory door and a custom installation panel: http://www.electroluxicon.com/Files/International_English/0-999/EDW5505ESS_install_en.pdf
