How do i choose surround sound speakers to go in my ceiling?

My living room has high (15 feet?), vaulted ceiling, with holes and wiring for 4 round speakers. How do I choose what to buy? I'm thinking up to $100 per speaker. Should they all be the same?

How to convert 200 cubic ft to square feet

Cubic feet is a measure of volume, while square feet is a measure of area. There is no direct conversion between them.

Imagine two rooms that are 20 feet by 20 feet. One room has a ceiling 8 feet high, the other has a ceiling 10 feet high.

Both rooms are 400 square feet, but the first room is 3200 cubic feet while the second is 4000 cubic feet.

High frequency noise form my 7.1 surround sound system

Is the microphone live? If so, what you're getting is called "acoustic feedback". Any room sound gets in the mic, gets amplified, comes out the speakers, and then gets picked up by the mic again. Louder and louder until you get to the maximum your system can do.

The solution is to turn it down. . . until it stops.

What is the best way to set up my 5 inceling speaker system room size is 18x15 TV is centered on 15 ft wall 10ft ceiling ?

place your subwoofer approx 1m or 3 feet away from your media player, then one speaker below your TV, the other two in either corner in the front and the other two in either corner at the back of the room. try not to mount them too high, approx 3 feet off the ground or the same hight as your head when seated. this will give you the best sound quality. if the speaker is the front or back seem a little far you should be able to set the volume on each of them. if the back is further than the front then set the back speakers louder than the front ones or vis versa.

How to setup an eltax surround system? what exact place do I put them (also behind me)? It contains 4 speakers, 1 sub-w, and 1"tweeter/high range" to put on your tv. I thank You sincerely!

Well, that is pretty dependent on the room size and seating position. Ideally the center channel should be directly under the TV. This is where 90% of the dialog will come from. The two tall speakers should then be placed adjacent to the TV, preferably a couple of feet away. The smaller surround sound speakers should be approximately ear level, to slightly above and behind the viewer. The surround speakers are bipolar, so they will radiate sound out of each side, therefore you do not need to "angle' them towards the listener. The sub woofer doesn't really matter, the bass frequencies are non-directional. I like to hide it under a table or something like that.
Some new receivers have built in surround set up programs that will send a test signal to each speaker and "listen" then adjust the delay and volume accordingly. Without that it will take some trial and error to get any system dialed into the perfect settings. Then what may be ideal for one specific location will sometimes not sound as good from another in the same room.
Good Luck.

This may not be an actual problem. I've observed after performing a successful Audyssey calibration that a few things seem odd. My large (Paradigm Monitor 11) front speakers are now considered 'small,'...

If it sounds normal, then yes leave them as they are.

But there may need to be an exception made.

The distances are set the way they are for the proper advance or delay in milliseconds of the sound arrival at the listening position.
The system calibrated your speaker settings based on how each channel's frequency responses measured at the listening position. Room acoustics and channel positioning greatly affects this. The settings it made in the system can be a best case scenario compromise that MAY not be good for your surround speakers as it can be delivering signal to them that they were not designed to handle; in which case it is best to increase the crossover value of those speakers.
