The best thing to do is hold power and volume up or down (could be either one depending on brand) Hold them until the Brand splash screen comes up then release, you should be into the boot menu, or factory reset. Find an option that has to do with erasing user data, or restore to factory default setting. This will erase any old user data, including photos, videos, music, and passwords. Pretty much anything on it including apps.
