u need to go in to your sound setting go on to message tone looks like its set on silent then u will be able to hear it when it goes off

On your home screen select an icon that says: profile(phone only). Scroll down to advanced and click. Click again on phone only and a menu will open. Scroll down to sms messages or any other application you wish. Don"t forget to look for where it says mute, that's what u have to change :)

Go to menu > Settings > Sound and display > ringer volume> There you have a separate notification volume control.There you can adjust it.
