The roller head may be turning, but something could be rubbing and causing the belt to slip slightly. I'd remove the belt and beater bar and look for foreign material that is stuck

Make the sure the cables are connected properly to the monitors, as in Left Positive to Left Positive, Left Negative to Left Negative on both ends of the cable. Having one polarity switched can burn out your speaker and internal electronics.... I'm speaking from experience. When you burn up a $400 speaker by incorrectly connecting them... it's a big OOPS that makes you feel pretty dumb. Even as a professional A/V guy, it happens.... and sucks. If this doesn't fix the problem, contact Yamaha or an authorized dealer about it. Could be bad electronics internally, but my guess is it's the cables being improperly connected.

My dc24 has started making a loud noise which seems to be coming from the ball. I switched its off when it started to smell of a slight burning or warm smell. Vacuum is only 2.5 years old, filters are...

Sounds as if there is something stuck in the vacuum causing the beater bar to stop turning while the belt continues to turn giving off the burning smell.

Dull noise and burning smell

You should not run item incase of fire until you have unit checked out. The cost of an appliance engineer is cheaper than replacing people and home should a fire start, remember, though switched off, if there is a faulty motor which may be causing the burning smell, it has been know to smolder and igninte in the cupboard.

Play safe, if you are not a DIYer let the professionals repair or pi passed its sell buy date replace, and have a retirement party for the retiring faithful ******!!

My built in lamona oven makes a smell like electicals burning and makes a loud whirring noise when switched on. Any ideas why? have had an electrician in to replace the mechanism inside and the problem is...

This sounds like the magnetron is failing, with a typical smell and a loud noise, there are two additional parts that can be a factor, the high voltage capacitor and diode. To pursue this you will need an appliance repairman or tv technician, the parts and labor will probably run the cost of a new microwave oven.

During performance, the monitor channel started giving loud noises and no music anymore. The mains channel was playing normally. 15 minutes later, the unit started giving a burned smell and I switched it...

Likely a failure of one of the amps and now more... You should have shut it down when it started making noises. This is NOT a DIY repair. Take it to a competent repair shop for service.

Dyson dc14 died, no power after burning smrll

It sounds like the motor has overheated and has now been irrepairable damaged.
The motor has a built in over-current trip to protect itself (and you if it seriously overheated and caught fire). This normally automatically resets itself, however if the motor has just about had it, the moment it is switched on, it just trips again.

The primary cause of motors overheating is that the filters are not cleaned or replaced frequently enough. Dont be fooled by Dyson's "lifetime filters". They need to be regularly cleaned and replaced when necessary.

Replacement motors are avaible on eBay for about £25, however repalcing one requires good DIY skills and tools.

Have a look at www.dysonmedic.com and see if you feel you can tackle it yourself. If not, take it to a repair shop or call the Dyson helpline.

My Dell monitor gives sharp noise when started without connecting to the CPU.When system has started it works fine. Can I know how to solve it please ?

Hi!
I used to have a monitor similar to yours, from the noise you are describing is it like a crack? or an high voltage electrical spark/arc? (Mini lightening flash sound).
The Monitor I had De-gaussed each time it was switched on this is a weird thing that lines up the colour guns. If done whilst in use it gives the brief appearance of a shimmy/shake to the screen.
Have you a menu bar on or near the power on/ off switch? if you do try looking for De-gausse it may inadvertently become switched on to auto. You can De-gausse manually.
I do hope this helps.

SDM M51 major problem

Based on your post/description, the "fizzling noise and a smell of ozone" are indicators of electronic component(s) that burned. Should you be comfortable and have a fair knowledge of component level repair, soldering and the use of a VOM then it is possible to repair it yourself. The inside would basically be divided into 3 electronic group; 1. power supply; 2. video; and 3. illumination. This should be fairly straight forward since the "fizzling noise and a smell of ozone" indicators would also be visually apparent. Fizzling would normally be capacitors leaking their oil at high temp/high pressure. this would probably be in the power supply section (but the other 2 groups have their own capacitors also). Smell of ozone would usually come from high voltage arcing which is only present in the inverter circuitry of the illumination. It is the group responsible for supplying the high voltage high frequency supply of the small fluorescent tube (CCF) that provides the backlight of the display panel. As earlier mentioned, it has also its own capacitors. If for some reason you do not feel comfortable opening and working the electronics inside, you might be better off seeking the services of a qualified professional. Good luck and kind regards. Hope this gives you and idea and how to go about it.
