HP a1240n has no AGP or PCI-E Slot, so your left with PCI VGA CARD.

Here is a link for PCI video cards.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010380048%201069609642&bop=And&Pagesize=100

Pick the card that suites your needs ( Pick those with Direct X 9)
note: The higher, the core clock, The better.
The higher the memory and bit, the better.

Need graphics upgrade

Your Mobo supports PCI and PCI Express x16 Graphics Cards. Keep in mind some Graphics Cards require a MIN. Power Supply Unit, PSU. How much Memory do you have installed? That a easy upgrade. You can find some useful info here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00864946&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=3340228#N144 ALSO, your choise of cards is good Take a look at this for example: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100006662%2040000048&IsNodeId=1&Description=graphic%20cards&bop=And&Order=PRICE&PageSize=20. ON the left side of the page you can select PCI or PCI e x16, which is a faster slot/card. You can also Upgrade your CPU, in the HP support page it list the Compatible CPU. Here is a Little freeware program that may help: http://www.filehippo.com/download_speccy/. For further assistance respond to post.

Im looking to upgrade my dc5000 sff graphic card and I wanted to know what kind of video card i need etc; pci, pci-express..... And if you have a product that could be used in this computer that would be...

Hi W Matt - Unfortunately your PC has only PCI slots available, no dedicated video slots like AGP or PCI-e.

You can get a PCI card with better/faster graphics than you have but the difference won't be dramatic.

If you want something to run Windows 7 in full graphics (Aero) mode and some games at medium settings I would recommend a card using the Nvidia 8400gs chipset. It's a fairly inexpensive card made by many manufacturers and won't put a strain on your systems small power supply.

You must remember that you need a PCI card that is also a low profile version.

I've created a search for what you need at Newegg (an online seller) and you can view the kind of card you need HERE.

Happy Computing!

I nned to increase the possibilities of grafic card for working with programs that have image treatment and others and need a better grafic card

In your case, you can upgrade your system ram or memory bu not the graphic card.Upgrading your system ram or memory will boost your application loading and performance. Example your memory right is 1GB so make it 3GB by purchasing a 2GB ram. You will see the difference but do not expect to for the graphics just for faster loading and better performance can only give your memory. Have a nice day.

What video card can i buy for my computer ? I have a HP Pavilion a1120n . It already has an internal video card , but i want to upgrade . Its a Intel (R) 82915G / GV / 910GL Express Chipset with 128 mb...

I suggest you install an AGP video card that suits your requirements. If you play games that require a powerful graphics card, then I recommend the G Force range of graphics cards. A computer shop can recommend to you a graphics card depending upon what programs you are running on your computer. The games programs usually recommends a graphic card with their games.
Don't forget to disable/turn off the on-board graphics card in the BIOS if you use an external graphics card.

Recommended resolution

Most likely your video card will not support that kind of resolution through that monitor. I did not see where you mentioned the card or not, but it takes a good graphics card to push that kind of resolution.

I play online games (mmorpgs) and when I run these games I lag a lot. Now what is the problem? Should i buy a new graphics card? If so then which one would you recommend?

Find out what kind of interface your current one has, like PCI Express Or just PCI ect. Then go to best buy and buy the most expensive one you can afford with the same interface. If you have a built in graphics card then you may be stuck unless it has slot for an upgrade. Just see what slot your motherboard has for a graphics card before you buy one. If its an onboard but has a slot for a upgrade after installation turn off the onboard graphics card in your bios .

I need a list of compatible video cards that can be installed to upgrade the computer to make it run smoother and assist with games, I also need to know what processors can be installed in it ato upgr

I hope you realize the manufacturer recommends a maximum of 1GB of RAM in this system.

Since the system only has PCI slots, any kind of PCI video card should work without a problem.

Upgrade graphics processor hp pavilion zv5034us

Honestly speaking, I recommend you to go for a New Notebook rather than changing the Motherboard since it is not possible to purchase another Motherboard for this Notebook with a better graphic card.

The actul Motherboard of your Notebook will cost you pretty more and I personally recommend you to go for a New Notebook with which you can get latest Graphic Card and hardware components.

You can find the list of parts available for this Notebook from HP Part Store from the link below :

http://h20141.www2.hp.com/hpparts/Search_Results.asp?mscssid=EJVUXR20AGCT8PMRJKPJXR6FSGX6C2W2

However, if you donot have any issues with the Notebook currently, go ahead working with it.

Hope this helps...

My computer d530 hp compaq

Your video card drivers are most likely the culprit. Go to HP.com, find the drivers and downloads section and get an upgraded video/graphics driver. Either that or you need to upgrade the video card in the computer, not sure what kind of slot or if one is even available for the d530.
