Question about Miele Washing Machines

Open Question

What is your best guess for the reason behind F53 miele fault?

I have a miele W1113 washing machine. That I bought it used 4 years ago. Last year we loaded the machine with extra weight and got an error. (Don't remember which one). Since that day, we get a F53 error code at some point during the wash cycle. I go into service mode, erase the error code, take out a bit of clothes and restart the washing cycle and it works. This routine lasted for one year. Last week, even with 1/3 of capacity the machine now throws the F53 error. And now I think either I will buy a new one or try to repair it. The symptoms are F53 at some point during the wash cycle (more often right at the beginning refusing to start moving but only letting water enter) I can go in service mode and test successfully the spin up until maximum speed with no problem and the normal rotating drive) (even with exactly the same clothes that caused the error in the first place [This is the most puzzling thing to me]) During the previous year and right before throwing the F53 error I would notice the drum having difficulty rotating and hearing some clicks and instantaneous fast revolving (almost like trying to catch up for not rots paying in the first place) I read on the Web that sometimes it is simple sometimes it is not. What is your guess? This miele model is USA and Mexico but I love in Europe and this model is rare around here! Thanks

SOURCE: washer make a clicking noise

Zoobs, you could have something stuck under the agitator. The agitator will pull straight off. Grip it on each side and pull up hard, but don't hit yourself in the face. If that don't work, try slipping a belt under it and pull. Check for something caught under it. Another possibility could be the nylon suspension rod socket supports in the back. They will make a noise during agitation if they are dry. Put a little 3 in 1 oil to quite them down. Take the front panel off and check the pulley and belt, see if anything is out of whack. I also often find the motor support hitting the bottom panel during agitation making noise. Take the front panel off and observe during agitation. See if the support is striking the bottom. If so, just bend the bottom panel down. Catriver..post back.

SOURCE: Loud squeaky Noise

this is not 100% diagnosis as can't listen to noise but fault may be bearing lip seal disintegrating which is a serious fault and if im right then bearing will shortly go as well. reason it is noisy during start is that seal is dry and gets wet when full of water

SOURCE: Shows "LE" in display.

Machine has a bad motor or "stator" on this machine. It is a direct drive winding on the back of the machine. Remove the back panel, the one bolt removes the rotor then you will see the stator winding, replace it and your good to go.

SOURCE: Sears 90 Series Washing Machined throws ground fault during spin.

pvatki, I am a licensed electrician and the NEC (national electrical code) does not require a clothes washer to be on a ground fault circuit interrupter. Replacing your gfci with a standard duplex receptacle will fix the problem you are having.

Miele w1113. Washer drum won't spin during wash cycle

I assume you are saying the machine is working except the drums not turning? - you need to see if the belt has come off because thats what i would check first if you hear the motor start/stop after it fills up with water.

What the meaning of f53 ptoblem?

Error code F53 on Miele is a speed sensor fault.
It has detected the drum speed to be wrong at some point and has indicated the problem to you.
Have you tried unplugging it. That will reset the computer.
If it's not coming up again after unplugging it, I'd not worry about it.
If it is coming up every time you use it, then you have either a faulty sensor, motor or pcb.
Miele are extremely secretive with information on their appliances and this makes it hard to diagnose accurately faults on them.

How do I fix a F53 fault ona Miele W1712 Washing Machine

A call with the Miele tech helpdesk got me an answer: The tacho unit (coil) should have about 500 Ohm resistance, so they told me. My unit only had about 78 Ohm's, so I ordered a new brush unit (which includes the tacho). The new unit actually measures 250 Ohm, but since it was a new one I did fit it. It works like a charm again. No F53 fault code anymore.
The part no. is 6799642 - Module BSTV Mrt40 RK473. It cost me about 70 euro's including shipping. My machine is a type W3821, but the motor and brush unit with tacho is used on a variaty of models.
Cheers!

Help ! I own a Miele Touchtronic W1113. I put to0 much Zero liquid soap , using cold water . Now the machine flashes " Fault " for intake and drain . I opened the trap door and let the water drain over...

Hi,

Sounds like you may have flooded the base of the unit and activated the float switch. Tip the unit forward slightly with a towel at the base and all the water will pour out. You should be right to run the unit after that and any other water inside will dry up. it won't rust as it is stainless steel inside.

Miele touchtronic 1113 washer

There is a float switch in a pan under the machine. This pan is probably full and the float switch is causing the Intake & Drain fault signal. You can lean the machine over to towards the front to partially drain the pan. Put a towel down to catch the water. When you put the machine level again the fault lights should be out. The real question is where did the water come from. You can easily remove the top (4 screws, 1 on each side behind the little plastic caps and 1 on each side of the back. Torx heads) and look down inside while you start the cycle. Look for leaks.
Good Luck,
Dan
