some models have a external transformer like power supply. Cable plugs in wall socket goes to power supply transformer, cable from transformer connects to TV with a male female probe type fitting. It appears the power supply is missing.
I would need more information on your PC but this is what I think you're talking about:
You should have two cables connected to the CD\DVD drive and the hard drive. One of these cables is the data cable and the other would be the power cable. The data cable would be a smaller cable connecting to the hard drive and to one of the Sata ports on the motherboard while the power cable would come from the power supply and connect to the Sata hard drive.
This would be the same for the CD\DVD drive. This only applies if these are Sata drives and not the older IDE drives.
The Sata connectors have a L shape design on one end so they cannot be inserted in the wrong polarity.
You may not need all the power cables coming from the power supply as some may be for any added drives that you may not have.
If the power cable is disconnected from the hard drive, the system would not boot. You might want to check the memory modules also, to make sure you have them inserted in the slots completely.
Hello, You might have a bad motherboard and need to replace.
First, I know its a pain but disconnect and reconnect all cables verify that your not missing one of your power cables look for any connections on the board that don't have cables hooked up to it. take extra care when hooking up your power button cable. Its easy to accidentally place them in the wrong pin.
Hope This Helps
open the set remove all but the ac cord connectors from the power supply; label them first! turn on the tv if the power supply does not recycle turn off the set and, connect and, disconnect each cable one at a time going to the power supply turning the set on and, off each time as you test until the power supply cycles (fails) again then repair or, replace the circuit board that causes the power supply to fail. if the power supply cycles on and, off (fails) with all connectors but, the ac cord disconnected repair or, replace the power supply.
Even if the power supply had another cable, where would you attache it. Many of the older computer power supplies had only one cable. That was all that they needed. Many 250-400 watt. No extra power to DVDs, CPU, or Video cards. Hope this helps .
It's a standard DB25 pin cable. Male on one end female on the other.
What's the voltage of the power supply for your unit? Mine is missing the power supply. (kids)
