SOURCE: have you any instructions for prinz astral 500

You will not find instructions for that telescope. However Meade maintains a web site for all of their telescopes. Look under REFRACTOR for one that is similar to your telescope. They all go together in a similar fashion.

maybe this one:

SOURCE: Star Diagonal (For 1 1/4 lense needs closer focus

You do not need a diagonal with a reflector style telescope. Just put the eyepiece into the focuser.

SOURCE: Hi, the plastic bit snapped

You can certainly buy both eyepiece(s) and a diagonal, but you may find the price rather high compared with the value of the telescope. You probably don't actually need the diagonal- if you remove the broken one you should find that it is possible to insert an eyepiece directly in the hole it comes out of. The diagonal is useful for two things, it partially erects the image (astronomical telescopes usually display the image inverted), and it provides a more convenient viewing angle.

I am assuming the the eyepiece size is 1.25 inch outside diameter- the standard for small telescopes. Some earlier scopes might require an eyepiece just under an inch in diameter. These will be much harder to find now.

There is a useful website about small scopes on THIS LINK

Hi, Its a telescope, an astral 400 D60-F700

You will not find instructions for that telescope. Using Google- Search under REFRACTOR 60mm for one that is similar to your telescope. They all go together in a similar fashion. The manual will NOT tell you how to use the telescope to find objects on the nightsky. It only shows you how to put it together.

Clear skies.

Astronomical telescope show images back to front

This is normal for an astro telescope. It does not matter with stars. You can buy a terrestrial viewing diagonal to correct it

My son picked up a Tasco 302048 telescope at a local thrift store. The "L" lens? is missing. Can you tell me where I can find one? Is that even the name of the lens? Thanks, Veronica &...

You mean the mirror diagonal like this one:
http://agenaastro.com/celestron-1-25-telescope-star-diagonal.html

These come in two basic sizes-- 1.25 inch and .965 inch-- measure the hole in the focuser and buy the correct size.

Try these two retailers:

My AZ1 reflector view is upside down. Is this right?

All astronomical telescopes show upside down images. For terrestrial viewing you can buy an erecting diagonal--

Does the Celestron AstroMaster 114EQ use a diagonal?

NO, you do not need a diagonal. The eyepiece goes directly into the focuser.

images in astronomical telescopes are always INVERTED-- you can buy an "erecting prism diagonal" for terrestrial viewing, but it is not needed for star gazing.

Can't figure out how to put the eye-pieces (3) on our Selsi Telescope 335x.

All eyepieces go into the FOCUSER end of the telescope. You never said if this is a REFRACTOR or a REFLECTOR style telescope.

On a refractor you have a lens in the front and the focuser in the back.

On a reflector the focuser is on the SIDE of the telescope near the front end.

The diagonal goes in first --- and the eyepiece goes into the diagonal -- if this is a refractor style telescope. Here is a picture of the DIAGONAL.

Most astronomical telescope show upside down images-- no problem as up or down do not exist in space!

You can buy an "erecting" diagonal for terrestrial use.
