It sounds like the output ic and or transistors have blown and need replacing. Did you short the speakers or cables?

I bought Yamaha RX V565 4yrs ago, then after 2 years, may receiver always shut off 5 minutes everytime I open. What is the problem or reason of shutting down my receiver? Thank you

press and hold both the "DIRECT" and "TONE CONTROL" buttons and press power and see what it says on the display. This will give us some idea of what is causing the receiver to turn off.

Every time I turn my Yamaha RX-V565 on it switches to the AV1 input instead of staying on the HDMI input that it was on when I turned it off.

Set your TV, Sattellite receiver and audio where you want it when you turn on the set. Then hit the Scene button named "TV" and hold it down till the yamaha receiver says set complete and it will turn on to HDMI 2

No sound from a new RX-V565

Make sure your speaker "AB" switch is on. Small button on the front panel and conformation on the LCD display. If this is on and you have no audio still, check for sound on the Tuner. If then you have audio, enter the GUI setup screen and set Audio Input to "Auto". If all settings are correct, return the unit for exchange. (This would be a rare case for a Yamaha to be bad out of the box!) Not impossible, but rare! Hope this helps

We have a Yamaha RX -V565 and after listening to music the entire system shuts down. We turn it back on and it works for a while? We installed new speakers with new 16 gauge speaker wire. Anybody know...

chances are youve got a short at the rear of the receiver. look for frayed speaker wires touching the chassis of the stereo. use a flashlight. it only takes one tiny hair of a wire to short it out

My Yamaha receiver model rx-v565 audio is putting out choppy sounds when cable is playing. I am using all HDMI connections. My TV is an LG 240 Hertz model and using the comcast HDMI box.

Do not run HDMI to your receiver. Run Digital Coaxial or Optical from cable box to your 565. The problem is on many levels. Hardware, Software, Audio Codecs, etc. your receiver is HDMI version 1.1. The current version is 1.3b. You can thank the recording industry for copyright protection for this issue. To have your receiver updated would be Very expensive and not worth it. If you want a blow by blow explanation of all HDMI's issues, Google HDMI forums or problems, and you can read for hours. Hope this helps.
