Question about Samsung SyncMaster 712N 17" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Font Appearance I had the fonts darker and thicker than they are now, I don't know how I got them that way. Auto adjustment was hit by acccident and now the fonts are skinny and what I call whimpy. Also I do not know how to use the buttonson the monitor to work with the menu, I tried and all I can work with is brightness and contrast. I worked with a support person a few years ago as I had purchased my first syncmaster 712n and one of the pixels was showing, the font was the way I like it, I exchanged it for the one I am using now and I have font problems, if auto adjustment is hit.

How do you change the font size on the monitor

To change the font size, point your mouse to the desktop then right click. Click on Properties - Appearance (tab). The third option is FONT SIZE. You can adjust the size from there.

Hope this helps. Thank you!

If the fonts are too small ..just see the resolution maybe is too high and thats why ..being a 19' monitor you should use it at 1024 x 768 resolution to be accesible with big fonts ..and still not too big..and the luminosity and contrast have to be adjusted from the monitor itself in order not to affect all the stuff you get out from the computer ...when you Modify it from the video card you change all that will run on the computer and all its properties..
So ..if it is not a issue with the resolution ...just encrease the font size from right click on the desktop and choose properties..there on the appearance you will have settings for all...just go to the advance settings inside..and you can modify the font for each bar ..for the icons..and the icons itself ans still use a high resolution ..
also you can change all fonts to a bigger value by going into the desktop properties and instead of going to the appearance go to settings ..(the last one in the right ) and there click advanced and change the DPI from 96 normal ...choose custom ..and add a percentage to encrease the fonts and icons as well all at once and the fonts too ...
For the fonts use on the browser the settings are made from the internet options the browser itself..

Cant hardly read the screen the printing is so small and a little fuzzy

Change the display font size. In Win 7, right click on the desktop and choose Screen Resolution then choose make Text and other items larger or smaller. This brings up Windows Appearance and Personalization > Display (small, medium, large buttons). With Win7, you can also turn on Clear Type for LCD displays.

The earlier versions of Windows have the same display font option but it may be a subset of the Accessibility Control Panel. Macs probably have a similar control in the OS.

I hope this helps.

Files appear too large on Acer monitor

If you just want to change the size of the font of the web pages you are visiting...all you have to do is hold down the CTRL key while tapping the + or the - key the will increase and decrease the font size.

To check the resolution just right click in an empty area of the desktop and scroll down to can play around with the resolution there....don't worry, you get 15 seconds to decide if you like the setting before it reverts back to the previous setting.

Changing font size for larger monitor.

You can adjust your settings to something more to your liking by right clicking on your desktop in an empty area - then choose "properties" from the menu that pops up.

In the new window go to the tab that says "settings" and adjust the screen resolution to something a little larger. If you change your desktop settings in this manner then a window will pop up immediately after the adjustment asking you if you want to keep the new settings or revert back to the old one. If you don't select something within like 15-30 seconds it will change back. It does that just in case you change the settings so bad you can't see anything.

Another place to adjust the size of your fonts is to go to the "appearance" tab of the same menu and look for "font size" and there you can make your fonts bigger and ridiculously big, in case you still need to after changing the resolution.

I hope you find this information helpful, have a blessed day!
